So I missed my All About Me post last Friday because I was too busy posting all kinds of goodies from CHA. :) So today is a 2-for-1 today! Just what you wanted, right?!! LOL! ;)



Last week I was supposed to post the last purchase I made for myself. Would you be completely surprised that it was scrappy-related?! LOL! I think NOT!!! ;)

We have an AWESOME craft store here in Utah called Roberts Crafts. Do you know what I LOVE about them? EVERY SINGLE TIME you make a purchase at their store you automatically get 40% off one item. Cool, huh?!!! All you have to do is ask the cashier and it's a go.


Well, last week they were giving you 50% OFF every single day . . . so guess what I loaded up on? My latest collecting obsession . . . MY CUTE STAMPS. Love these things! I'm hoping to knock out some Valentine's cards with them in the coming week. :)




Today's post is called a Mini Me post . . . where I tell you some fast facts about myself.

Where were you born? Salt Lake City, Utah
How many houses have you lived in? Five, ALL of them within 15 minutes of each other.
Did you change Schools many times? Nope. I lived in the same house from the time I was born, until I was married. Kevin and I have lived in four houses during the 13 years we have been married.

I actually did a mini-album last year about the homes Kevin and I have lived in. It was such a fun project! I'll repost it here today, in case you are wanting to make something similar.

All About Me Fridays: My Home

This week for the Noel Mignon All About Me Friday Blogging challenge we are assigned to describe our homes. What is our home's color scheme/style & where did we get our inspiration for our homes.

Both my husband and I love the Fall. It is our favorite season. We love the colors of it, the feel of it, the warmth and coziness about it . . . and we wanted to bring that feeling into our home.



One day while shopping I looked at a bag of dried beans for 12 bean soup and thought to myself . . . "This is it! This is Fall! These are the colors I want to spread throughout our home!"



So that's it . . . the inspiration for our home began with our favorite season and a bag of beans. LOL!

Our style is very traditional, but with a bit of old world and coziness thrown in. We wanted our home to have a feeling of timelessness, but a place where people feel like they can stay and chat awhile. I love chenille fabrics, landscape artwork, natural materials and warm colors -- creams, dark browns, reds, golds, and greens. There's still a LOT to be done in this home. We've been here just over a year . . . so there's still lots of accessorizing and window treatments to do. :)

Leather couches are a must with kids. And I love furniture with interesting curves and details.



Our kitchen chairs are cushioned and cozy so we can sit around and chat with friends and be comfortable. :)



Light cabinets in the kitchen help the dark floors from feeling too heavy and overwhelming.



I also love handmade furniture pieces. I'll show you two of my favorites. This piece in our hallway.



And this kitchen piece we adapted to be a TV cabinet in our bedroom. I LOVE how tall it is!



Red used to be my very favorite color, but has recently taken second place to dusty teal blue. I snuck in some blue in our bedroom . . .



And my scraproom is painted blue with cream cabinets.

Noel Mignon Sneaks & All About Me: My Purse

Over at Noel Mignon , Michelle Lanning has started an All About Me blogging challenge. (She even made us a blinkie! Isn't she sweet?!) I LOVE this idea because I feel like I am always just posting scrappy stuff here . . . which isn't bad, right?! But still, I would like to make my blog a little more personal. :)

So here we go! My first All About Me blog post about MY PURSE.



My purse will tell you just how "regular" I am. LOL! As I've been reading everyone else's posts I have been ooh-ing and ahh-ing over their cute bags and accessories. Me?! I just have a regular $20 purse that is purely functional. (Hmmmmm. Maybe it's time I spiced things up a bit and splurged on a few fun things for myself?)

After carrying a diaper bag for so many years . . . all I wanted was something BASIC. Something that would hold just what I need and that is it. :)



The contents? . . . Well, they still border on the diaper bag side. LOL! It carries my wallet, my checkbook (the metal thing . . . I get teased a lot that I look like a UPS worker. :) ), a cute little notebook from my Noel Mignon secret sister (a scrapper has to have a place to jot down ideas, right?!), lotion, hand sanitizer, a brush, lip gloss, chapstick, sunglasses, pens/pencils & random sheets of paper, and lots of things to keep my kids happy while out on errands (toys, crayons, suckers, bandaids, and elastics to fix Camryn's hair when she pulls it out).

On another Noel Mignon note . . . a NEW kit is going up for sale on MONDAY, January 18th at 7:00 am PST. This one is called OBJECT OF MY AFFECTION and is stuffed full of love-y, romantic goodness! Set your alarms people . . . this is another one that is going to FLY off of Noel's shelves!!!

Uh . . . Jana? . . . Are you there, Jana? . . .

Yes, I'm here. I am so crazy-busy with holiday stuff! (I'm sure all of you are, too!) We literally didn't start shopping for the holidays until last Thursday. I know. What's up with that?! Well, we are now 3/4 of the way done! Whew! This week I'll be tying up those loose ends and getting our Christmas cards out.

I've been tagged twice by Danielle and Cassie. So here are 7 more facts about me. LOL! Stuff you never knew you didn't really care to know about me! :) If you want to play along, consider yourself tagged and link us in the comment box.

1. I have had the bad habit of biting my nails ever since I was a little kid.

2. I can't sleep unless I am sleeping on my stomach.

3. I really do like the Wiggles. :) Anthony is my favorite and I'm totally bummed that Greg had to stop working for health reasons and that their show is barely on the Disney channel anymore. Seriously. :)

4. I am a very indecisive person. It takes me forever to pick out anything at the store.

5. My most embarrassing moment happened when we first moved to this neighborhood. A cute family a street away asked my daughter over for a playdate. When I opened the car door to let her out, a can of bright royal blue paint (for a decorating project I was doing) fell out of my car and started running down their driveway. The dad was outside washing the windows. I yelled for him, "Help! Help!" as I tried to use my hands to block the paint from going any further. He came running with a roll of paper towels and a hose. I cried the entire time, I was so embarrassed, I never wanted to show my face to them again. Fortunately, the paint washed away. This family is now one of our closest family friends. :)

6. I didn't learn to whistle until I was an adult. And I'm still not very good at it! LOL!

7. My favorite food is mashed potatoes with butter, salt and pepper.

My Seven Random Facts
1. I used to play the mandolin/sing in a little bluegrass band with some friends in my high school/college years. (In case you don't know what a mandolin is, here is a little picture for ya!) I still LOVE bluegrass music and I can't wait until my kids are a little older so we can travel around to bluegrass music festivals again!

2. My secret dream profession is to be an Interior Designer.

3. E.T. totally freaks me out!

4. People always compliment me at how tidy and clean my house is. Well guess what, my husband is the one that keeps it that way. I'm the slob of the two of us!

5. My husband works in the TV news industry and I have no interest in news, politics, anything like that. I barely even watch him. I know, I need to grow up one of these days. LOL!

6. I'm a total homebody. I would stay in my p.j.'s all day, everyday if I could.

7. One of my biggest pet peeves is when people put me on speakerphone or don't identify themselves when they call.
