All Is Calm (Yeah, Right!)

So is everything calm at your house? LOL! Maybe you are one of those smart people who had all of your shopping finished before Thanksgiving. But if you are like me, you still have a few gifts left to get. Trips to the grocery store for recipe ingredients, cleaning up the house and keeping the kids happy while they are home from school is also on the agenda. ;)

But isn't it fun?! It's great to be together as a family making memories and celebrating the spirit and reason for the Christmas season! :D :D :D

I snapped this photo of my daughter the other night and had to scrap it right away. I used the Sold Out Noel Mignon Winter Weather kit along with some felt flowers, lace, and Making Memories Puffy Letter Stickers from my stash. (Sketch by Ally Cope of So Sketchy)

I hope you had a fun weekend! Mine began with laughs and giggles at the Noel Mignon Holiday Cocktail Crop. Thanks to all of you for such a fun night! Here is the layout I did for my Do or Dye Challenge.

Enjoy your Christmas week and take LOTS of photos!
Holiday Hugs to You!!!

Saturday! Is a Special Day!

How's your Saturday going? I'm just hanging out getting some scrapping projects done and then later today I will be taking the girls to see Disney on Ice. Should be fun! I can't wait to see how Camryn reacts to it all! This will be her first event like this. I sure hope she does okay! :D

Thanks for all the compliments on my room! And you bet! I'd LOVE to have every one of ya over! :D :D :D I honestly still can't believe Kevin let me go for it! Hmmmm. I'm wondering if he likes the fact that I disappear in here and entertain myself for hours on end! LOL!

Today is the last day to submit your layouts for the Harvest the Crop Challenges over at Noel Mignon . I have had a blast hanging out there this week chatting with all of you. I'm already looking forward to the next one!

Here are a few more layouts I completed for the challenges!

This was for Noel's challenge. The only requirement was that we use the word "Remember" somewhere on the layout. I decided to use it as my title. This picture of Camryn running down a path at the Homestead in her swimsuit cracks me up. It reminds me that I need to cherish every little moment of being a mom to these little sillies!

I used a sketch by Beggahuna Sketches. Go and check out her blog. She is AMAZING!!! I sure hope she continues drawing up these little goodies for us to play with!

This one was for Michelle's challenge where we had to use atleast 2 pictures, brown cardstock, handwritten journaling and ribbon. I used the Home Sweet Home kit for this one.

I realized that I haven't shared with you my Sketch This layout for this week! This is #74. It's been awhile since I have done a layout with one giant photo. That was really fun! I used Noel's Home Sweet Home kit on this layout, too. :D

And finally I have a 2-pager to share using one of Allison Cope's amazing sketches from So Sketchy!

Supplies:

Patterned Paper: Making Memories, Collage Press; Hambly Overlay; Heidi Swapp Chipboard Letters; Prima Flowers, 3-D cream paint, Misc. buttons from my stash.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a gorgeous weekend!

10+ New Pets

When we moved to our new house, we discovered that we have about 10+ new pets that live here. :D

Deer! Or Beer! Beer! if you're Camryn watching them out the window. LOL!
The babies have a lot of fun chasing each other around the yard. They remind me of little puppies tumbling, crouching, and pouncing after each other. It's so cute!

Kevin was a little worried they would ruin the new grass munching and playing on it, so we had to chase them off a few times until the grass could take root. But now they are welcome to come and go where they please. We even found tracks on the trampoline one day . . . now wouldn't have that been a sight!?! LOL!

Here are a few more layouts that I have worked on this week. This first one was done using scraps from the November Work In Progress Project Kit. I added the MM diecut paper and butterfly from a previous kit. The green string and stamp are from my stash.
The kids were so happy to have a bunch of leaves to play with in our new yard. You should've seen the smiles on their faces. :D Pretty fun!
I created this one for a challenge at JustCre8 using a Zune advertisement as inspiration. I loved the colors, the shapes, the "twinkles", and the silhouette shapes tucked into the swirls in the ad.

I translated it to my layout pretty literally, using a black mat around my photo and then swirls coming off of it. I used a bunch of my stash creating this layout and it felt so GOOD to use some of that stuff up. :D It still cracks me that paper and brads can be perceived as "old". LOL! They're still cute to me! The swirls are Fancy Pants chipboard Swirls, papers are by Anna Griffin and We R Memory Keepers. I used Stickles for the twinkles and then added some Around the Block brads and a MM Metal heart among the swirls as the "silhouettes" from the ad. The title block is a Technique Tuesday stamp. I cut it out and mounted it to a transparency. I then adhered the letter stickers to the transparency so that they could float above the swirls.

I really like how it turned out! I need to play with ads more often! Very fun!

Have a great day!

Once Upon a Time . . .

Have you seen this new line by Imaginisce! Oh, goodness! With three girls, and all the pink that comes with them, I couldn't help but fall in love with all the glitter and princess-y details of the Fairest of them All Collection! :D :D :D Here's a link to their website if you want to see more.

So here are a couple of layouts I've made so far with this line. The first one I used Sketch This #73. For whatever reason, I have a really hard time photographing and editing pastel colors and sparkles, so forgive me for that, kay? :D

I even pulled out some vellum for this one, can you believe it? LOL! I love how it adds a layer, but still let's the patterned paper show through from underneath.

And here's one of Maryn and Camryn just hanging out and being silly sisters together.

And she lived happily ever after! :D
Thanks for popping by!

So Sketchy Catch-Up

I'm still working on getting my files and programs set up on my computer (why aren't there more hours in the day!). Thanks to Kevin for taking the time to help me! Vista is forcing me to have to upgrade the programs that I've been using. I use to work as a Graphic Designer/Typesetter 10 years ago (don't be impressed, it was 10 years ago! LOL!) and primarily used PageMaker & Photoshop for creating documents. I LOVE PageMaker. But it looks like I'm going to have to learn something else. I feel like an old-fogey set in my comfortable ways, who doesn't want to have to change. LOL! Who knows, maybe I'll like whatever it is better.

Here are a few So Sketchy layouts that I created in September. They are just getting uploaded to the So Sketchy blog now (Ally was busy moving, too! Only she was moving across Canada, WOW!), so I thought I would share them with you today. :D

The Hotel Birthday Supplies:Patterned Papers: Making Memories, Melissa Frances; Journal Spot: Making Memories; American Crafts Velvet Thickers; Basic Grey buttons; Butterfly: Sweet Pea Scraps Kit; Other: Embroidery Floss

Silly Girl Supplies: Patterned Paper, Thicker Accents, Various DooDads: American Crafts; Letter Stickers: Making Memories, Jenni Bowlin and Adornit; Other: Embroidery Floss

Have a great weekend!

Paper Trunk Projects

I was thrilled and completely honored to be the Trunk Designer of the Month at Paper Trunk. Thanks Carrie, for letting me play with all of Paper Trunk's yummylicious-textured paper and the fun border stamps! I had a blast!

M is my daughter with many moods and expressions. I've been wanting to create something memorializing that about her and when Paper Trunk sent me their Chipboard Wheel I immediately knew it would be PERFECT!!! I love the way it turned out. :) Owen has been waiting for FOREVAH for his first tooth to fall out. When it finally did the last week of First Grade you can imagine how excited he was to FINALLY be part of the Invisible Toothless club. LOL!

Be sure and check out the Paper Trunk Blog during July . . . they are celebrating their First Birthday and it looks like they have some great prizes, challenges, and inspiration in store! They are also looking for a Trunk Designer for July . . . details are on the blog.

See you soon!

What a Beauty!

Okay! I've had the beautiful Noel Mignon kit in my hands for the last couple of days and I COULDN'T WAIT for her to put it up on her site so I could tell you all about it! Check it out! And it has the cutest name, the Tree House Kit! This thing is gorgeous! And let me tell you, it is PACKED FULL of all kinds of goodies! YAY! Just what we scrapbookers LOVE, right!?! :)

So if you want to see more pictures of this beauty CLICK HERE.

I can't wait to get designing with this kit!

*****************************

I think I mentioned in a previous post that I am the Visiting Therapist (Guest Design Team member) for this month at I Am A Scrapaholic. This month is their birthday celebration and they are giving away goodies in their forum left-and-right! It is quite the party! I would LOVE to see some of you, my friends, win some of those prizes! Come on over and play before the month is over! ;)

Lynn is the sweetest and sent me over a bunch of goodies to create with. I had soooo much fun with this color combination and wanted to share with you the projects I created!

This is my sister, Leslee, with her firstborn (photos by Gallery Photography). I laugh every time I see that picture of the two of them looking up, because Ray actually gave her a little "shower" during that shot! LOL!

When Kevin and I visited Anguilla in January, the first thing we noticed about the island were all the goats! They were everywhere! LOL! People obviously kept them as livestock, but there were also 100's just roaming around. We'd wake up in the morning to the bleating of goats. How romantic, eh? LOL!

Hmmmm. Don't know why this one is showing up smaller, it just is . . . Anyways . . . These fun papers and colors were the perfect compliment to my St. Patrick's Day photos. Too bad I never got a shot with all of us wearing green! Oh, well! The kit came with a green Galaxy Marker. Oh my goodness! Have you played with one of these yet?! Totally got me in a doodling mood! I pulled out my old lettering templates from the old days and created my title. So fun!
As you may have guessed, and already seen from other layouts, Maryn is my little camera hog. She LOVES the camera and automatically strikes several poses. I promise! I DON'T ask her to do this! She is just such a ham!

This last project is the mini book that comes in the Therapy kit. WOW! This was SO MUCH FUN to put together! :) I love that I could treat the clear bag the album went in as my "cover". Isn't it cute how my little smiling face peeks through?! LOL!

The idea for this album comes from a yearly page I make about the members of our family. Each year I place a headshot along with answers to the same questions, and the year. It's really fun to see how the answers change from year-to-year and I thought it would be fun to make it into a mini-album that we could leave out on our end table.

I have more to go on about, but I think I'll leave that for a post for tomorrow. Thanks for stopping by! I know my posts have been sporadic lately, but I still appreciate everyone who comes by and leaves me such sweet comments. It means so much to me and always makes me feel happy. THANK YOU! Mmmmmmmwah!
