Little Sampling of My Day.

First off, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! I rang in 2009 by banging pots and pans on the front porch with Owen and Jensyn. Awww, yeah! Fun little memory. :D

Afterwords I couldn't get to sleep. So I ended up channel-surfing and came across the show "Amazing Wedding Cakes" on the WE channel. Okay! Can you say "new favorite". LOVE that show! The most stressful part is seeing them deliver their masterpieces in the back of vans. YIKES! I'm just waiting for one to get ruined!

Here's a slideshow of the cakes I found on their website. Doesn't it make you want to scrap?! LOL!

The morning of January 1st I hopped online and scored me one of these babies! (Image from Becky Higgins blog) It took me a little while, but I conquered! Hehehe! My hubby just rolled his eyes at me that I was willing to dedicate my morning to scoring this thing. Kevin said, "Men, would never put up with this!" LOL! I know. He's right. Us scrapper-gals are a silly bunch! ;)

Yep! I'm joining the flock. Baaaa! Baaaaa! LOL! But I'm confident I can keep up on it with the help of a few of my scrappy friends. (Michelle and Virginia! You better keep on me about this thing!)

Check out the Project 365 dedicated blog!

Today was a little interesting. Here are a few pics to prove it. :D

This morning I asked the kids to each put away their stacks of laundry. Now Maryn really hasn't done anything beyond putting her jammies and underwear away in a drawer, but I thought I would let her have a shot at hanging things on the lower rod in her closet this time.

Guess what I found? LOL!

Here is Maryn, all proud of what she's been working on.

Here's the closet with the things she hung up so far. Pretty good, right? Look closer. Do you see the tights and underwear?

LOL! Love that kid!

We were getting ready for dinner tonight and realized we hadn't seen Cam for awhile.

This is how we found her. She'd been playing in Jensyn's room with a hair-color-streaking kit Jensyn had received for Christmas. LOL!

Thank heavens it didn't get anywhere else! I soaked her in the bath and she still has a cloud of pink on her face! LOL! I'm just hoping it wears off in time for church on Sunday. :D

And then Owen ends my day with some Elementary Humor.

"Mom, spell 'I cup.'"

Yeah. Owen. Soooooo clever. Where'd you learn that one?

Okay, okay. I bet you're DYING for some scrappy stuff by now. @@ LOL! Thanks for hanging in there.

This time I have some projects for you using the January Work In Progress Kit. It's bittersweet for me to post these because it is my last kit with Work In Progress. :( I will deeply miss working with Trish and all the lovely ladies there, but I also realize that I need to cut back on some of my DT obligations so I can dedicate some of that time to home and family. It was a promise I made to my kids awhile back, WIP just happened to be the first of my DT terms to come up. :(

This is also one of the reasons I'm not reapplying at Sketch This . :( (Thanks for everything, Janelle! I LOVE your sketches and will continue to play along when I can.) Janelle is holding a DT call right now, so check it out! I'm hoping this will just be for a couple of months until I can steady myself. I will continue to design for the places I have obligations to. I would NEVER leave anybody hanging. I also will never stop designing all together. Scrapping is just too much in my blood.

Anyway, on with the show. Here are my January Work In Progress projects. :)

For this layout I used Sketch #6 by Inspired Blueprints.

I'll be back soon! Enjoy your weekend!

December Work In Progress

I am seriously FLOORED by what the design team at Work In Progress did this month with the kits! WOW! WOW! WOW! Honestly, soooooo many cool ideas! Tons of great details! I plan on visiting each of their blogs and leaving lots of love for each and every design. CLICK HERE to see what I mean!

I had the opportunity to work with the Main kit. When I opened this kit up I felt enveloped by the color palette and the richness of the papers in this kit. It's a beaut! Check it out HERE to get a better look or to add one to your "collection". :D There is also a really fun Christmas kit!

Here are the projects I created using the Main Kit.

10+ New Pets

When we moved to our new house, we discovered that we have about 10+ new pets that live here. :D

Deer! Or Beer! Beer! if you're Camryn watching them out the window. LOL!
The babies have a lot of fun chasing each other around the yard. They remind me of little puppies tumbling, crouching, and pouncing after each other. It's so cute!

Kevin was a little worried they would ruin the new grass munching and playing on it, so we had to chase them off a few times until the grass could take root. But now they are welcome to come and go where they please. We even found tracks on the trampoline one day . . . now wouldn't have that been a sight!?! LOL!

Here are a few more layouts that I have worked on this week. This first one was done using scraps from the November Work In Progress Project Kit. I added the MM diecut paper and butterfly from a previous kit. The green string and stamp are from my stash.
The kids were so happy to have a bunch of leaves to play with in our new yard. You should've seen the smiles on their faces. :D Pretty fun!
I created this one for a challenge at JustCre8 using a Zune advertisement as inspiration. I loved the colors, the shapes, the "twinkles", and the silhouette shapes tucked into the swirls in the ad.

I translated it to my layout pretty literally, using a black mat around my photo and then swirls coming off of it. I used a bunch of my stash creating this layout and it felt so GOOD to use some of that stuff up. :D It still cracks me that paper and brads can be perceived as "old". LOL! They're still cute to me! The swirls are Fancy Pants chipboard Swirls, papers are by Anna Griffin and We R Memory Keepers. I used Stickles for the twinkles and then added some Around the Block brads and a MM Metal heart among the swirls as the "silhouettes" from the ad. The title block is a Technique Tuesday stamp. I cut it out and mounted it to a transparency. I then adhered the letter stickers to the transparency so that they could float above the swirls.

I really like how it turned out! I need to play with ads more often! Very fun!

Have a great day!

Halloween Fun & November Work In Progress

Happy Halloween!!!! We had so much fun. If you know me, you know that Halloween is my absolute favorite holiday. Not the spooky, icky part . . . no way! I love the candy, costume, trick-or-treating, cute part. :D

Here's our front door all decked out ready to greet the trick-or-treaters. :D And guess what?! I maybe had 10 doorbell rings. :( Bummer. We're at the end of a dead end street, so I'm sure that is why.

On Wednesday, the kids carved pumpkins with their Aunt Karrie. Didn't they do a cute job?

And here are the kid-lets all dressed up and ready to beg for sugar! LOL!

Jensyn as a Spider Web Witch
Owen as Butch Cassidy
Maryn as Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz
Camryn as a Flower
(but she didn't want anything to do with the hat
or posing on the stairs for a picture. LOL!)

I have some new projects to share with you. I've been busy scrapping trying to get caught up with all my deadlines after the move.
Check out the GORGEOUS November Work in Progress kits! I worked with the November Project kit ($25) this month. I just love these colors! Very elegant and soft. And very different. :D I love different. :D
Toast in a Dress - Cam went through a phase where she had to be in a dress every morning before she began her day. So here she is watching cartoons and eating breakfast in her church dress. LOL!

Pah-py Love - This is how Cam says the word "puppy" and I wanted to remember it. Her white puppy is her lovey and has to go everywhere with us. I just love that top shot of her walking and giving her pup a little smooch. LOL!
I used some stash on this one, too! (LOVE that feeling) A CK hatpin and some MM green diamond brads. I love the little bit of sparkle they added. :D
Preteen - It is very rare that I can get Jensyn to "pose" nicely for a shot lately. It must be a preteen thing. She's always hiding behind something or giving me a silly face.

Bread Napper - Another of Cam's phases. She is all about finger foods. She finds it . . . way . . . too . . . difficult . . . to eat her cereal with a spoon. LOL! Either that, or she's just not big into eating breakfast, because an hour later, I always find her raiding the pantry. Usually a loaf of bread in front of the T.V. is her snack of choice. Hee hee!
Happy Birthday Card -I love using these file folders as the base to a card. And there are THREE in this kit! How fun!
I'll be back soon with some more projects. I'm scrapping as we speak!
Enjoy your weekend!
