Friday, Friday!

Happy Friday, Everyone!

I have a couple of pages I wanted to share with you before the weekend. :)

Harvest - This is my first page using the brand new Noel Mignon Mill Street kit! (only 7 left!) I ADORE this kit!!! The colors in this kit are so much fun! Lots of warm fall, colors, but also a hint of pink and turquoise. :) I decided to do a non-traditional fall color scheme and play up the pinks/red/gold/blue in the kit.

I can't wait to dive into this kit some more! It's INCREDIBLE!!!

***********************************************

This second page is one that was published in the Fall issue of Scrapbook & Cards Today. LOOOOVE this magazine! It's gorgeous! And the best part is you can download it for FREE!

I used the Nikki Sivil's "Henry's Brilliance" collection for this page.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Have a wonderful weekend!

*Sniff, Sniff*

My littlest one started Preschool yesterday. And I must admit it . . . I cried. :) She wasn't afraid one bit, just marched right in there excited to begin this new adventure. I'm glad for that. It's much better than crying and screaming and needing me every second of the day. But I just had to shed a few tears at the fact that all my little ones are growing up . . . and there is nothing I can do to slow it down. :)

She had so much fun! She loves her teacher and can't wait until she gets to go back and "try it again" tomorrow. :D

I have a few scrappy things to share with you today!

First of all, you are going to want to stalk the Shimmerz blog on the 21st to see the New Fall colors . . . very vintage and very fun! There will be lots of projects posted that week by the designers to help you decide that you absolutely need them all! ;) Here's a little sneak peek for ya!

Shimmerz

Second, Urban Anthology is getting ready for another Design Team call. WoooHOOOOOO! I have to say, I LOVE Kari's kits! If you love designing with a kit that has a mix of manufacturers, is loaded to the gills, and includes unique items, and lots of flowers and trims, then this call is for you! Watch the Urban Anthology blog on September 15th for additional details! :)

Finally, I have a couple of whimsical Nikki Sivils layouts to share with you today using the Boo-tiful collection. Can you believe Fall is just around the corner?! I can't wait! This is my very favorite time of year!

The ghost on this next page is actually a page from the Ghost Chipboard Album. I painted him with crackle paint and added some googley eyes, and now this cute little guy is holding my title. :)

Thanks for coming by!

Nikki Sivils & a Tea Party

Thanks, Everyone!!! for celebrating with me about My Mind's Eye! I really am just so excited about it and it's nice to have people who "get it" be excited with me! ;)

I know I owe you some pics from my vacation, etc. but I just haven't had a spare minute to edit them! YIKES!!! You may just have to wait to see them in a future layout. LOL! Both Maryn and Jensyn's birthdays are this weekend, and we're still getting adjusted to school starting. If there were only more hours in the day, right? :)

I do have some Nikki Sivils projects to share with you. This month the design team created cards using the Nikki Sivils stamps. You can see all of them on the Nikkis Sivils Blog HERE.

I used the tree shapes from the "My Sweet Cherry Pie" stamp set to create this fall card.

On this page, I used the owl and papers from the Henry's Brilliance line to create a forest/four-wheeling page. It's not often that I scrap with a lot of blue, so this was fun!

Finally, I will share with you the invitation I made for Maryn's Birthday Tea Party this weekend. I have a bit of an addiction to My Cute Stamps lately (like you couldn't tell, right? LOL!) I've never really gone gaga for stamping, but these ones keep begging me to pull them out again and again! LOVE 'em!!! For this card I used the Tea Party set.

I knew I was going to be using pastel colors, so I used Gray ink instead of black to stamp my images so the contrast wouldn't be so harsh. I added the grass, sky and blush on the girl's cheeks using chalks. Everything else was filled in using colored pencils. I added Poinsettia Pink Blingz over the top of the pink dress for a bit of shimmer. :) The tea pot/cups and the sparkly dots on the background are done using Crystal Stickles.

I really did spend WAY too much time on these for a 6 year old birthday party, but they were really fun to do. LOL! I just wanted them to be pretty, frilly, and all things girly. :) I guess that's the curse of being a paper crafter. :) Hey! And atleast I used up some of my Basic Grey stash. ;)

Well, thanks for coming by today!
I'll be back tomorrow with my monthly projects for My Little Shoebox.
Hope to see you then!

NEW Shimmerz Colors!!!!

Caribbean Sunset Spritz
Island Salsa Blingz
Tickle Me Turquoise Shimmerz
and Jilted Jade Shimmerz

The DT is putting up all kinds of projects today on the blog using these fun new colors. Oh yeah! and PLUS, there is a GIVEAWAY going on to celebrate the new colors!!! YES!!! LOVE giveaways!!! So be sure and go enter on the Shimmerz Blog while you are checking out all the projects!!! :D :D :D

I am just loving these fresh, juicy new colors!!! Check out the projects I've been using them on!

First, I have a layout about my daughter potty training (YAY!!! We're almost done!). I used the Jilted Jade Shimmerz and the Island Salsa Blingz to change the color of my title letters. FUN!!! I also used the Jilted Jade Shimmerz to change the color of just the center pearl on the flower centers accenting my journaling block. Finally, I applied a color wash of Jilted Jade Shimmerz to a sheet of bookpaper and then cut out a circle to make a layered flower. :D :D :D

Supplies: Shimmerz Products: Island Salsa Shimmerz, Jilted Jade Blingz; Scrapbook Kit: Noel Mignon Rise and Shine: Cardstock: Bazzill; Patterned & Die Cut Papers: Creative Imaginations, Collage Press, My Mind's Eye; Transparency: Hambly; Journal Page: Making Memories; Letter Stickers, Label Stickers, Pearl Flowers & Tickets: Jenni Bowlin; Chipboard: Scenic Route. Clear Accent: Fancy Pants; Rubons: Pink Paislee & Lily Bee Design; Velvet Brad: Creative Imaginations; Buttons: SEI; Stamps: ArtChix; Other: Embroidery Floss, Bookpaper

*****************************************

Next I created a Birthday Card. Yes, I know. My card isn't as fabulous as what you normally see on the Shimmerz blog! LOL! But I gave it a go, so be kind! ;)

I used the Shimmerz Caribbean Sunset Spritz on the bookpaper circle. I used the Jilted Jade Shimmerz, Tickle-Me-Turquoise Shimmerz, Island Salsa Blingz, and Gold Glimmer Blingz to paint the lamps. And then I painted the background cardstock with the Jilted Jade Shimmerz for a shimmery card base. I hope this card really "brightens" up someone's day! :)

Supplies: Shimmerz Products: Jilted Jade Shimmerz, Tickle-Me-Turquoise Shimmerz, Island Salsa Blingz, Gold Glimmer Blingz, & Caribbean Sunset Spritz; Cardstock: American Crafts & unknown; Patterned Paper: Cosmo Cricket & My Mind's Eye; Stamps: Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker; Other: Thread, Embroidery floss, button, bookpaper.

*****************************************

Finally, I have one more layout (can you tell I was addicted to using these colors?!! :D :D :D ). On this one I used the Shimmerz Caribbean Sunset Spritz to accent a few spots on the background sheet as well as the diecut flowers. I used my Basic Grey Rubon Tool (with the rollerball tip) over my flowers on top of a foam pad to make the flower petals curl up.

Supplies: Shimmerz Products: Caribbean Sunset Spritz; Patterned Paper & DieCuts: My Mind's Eye; Letter Stickers & Ribbon: American Crafts; Pearls: KaiserCraft; Brads: Making Memories

Thanks for Looking!!! and Enjoy those New Colors!!! Aren't they FUN?!!!!

Noel Mignon Day by Day kit & Nikki Sivils

Those of you that love Noel Mignon kits, I just wanted to let you know that the August kit went up this morning and there are now ONLY 5 LEFT!!! It's a Project kit called Day by Day ($38.99). It's sort of a Day Planner/Creative Journal and it is AMAZING!!!

DT member Virginia Tillery is going to be teaching a companion class ($10) to go along with it, so check that out as well. :)

Just wanted to tell you about them before they are all gone. I have mine out on my desk right now, and let me tell you, Virginia's concept for this is so fun!!! You're going to LOVE it!

Here are some pics for ya!

Also, there is a new challenge up on the Noel Mignon Challenge Blog . . . 2-pagers!!!! I don't do a lot of those, so it was fun to branch out of my norm. I've had people ask me before, and just so you know, you don't have to be a member at Noel Mignon or subscribe to her kits to play along. Anyone can join in the fun!!! So come over and play with us! :) (Click on images for a better view)

*****************************************************

Next, I wanted to share with you a couple more layouts using Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker. Her website is up and running so come on over and check it out!

This first one is a page using the "My Sweet Cherry Pie" collection . Perfect for my pictures of visiting a local waterpark called "Cherry Hill". :)

And this is one of Owen, using the "Henry's Brilliance" collection . (ribbon is by Adornit, buttons by Sassafras Lass, Record cutout by Teresa Collins and letters are by American Crafts)

Lunch Visitor

Over the weekend, we sat down in the kitchen to eat our lunch. We looked out our family room window and there was a deer just sitting there on the lawn relaxing. I got my camera and snapped several pictures of her and she just stared right back at me. LOL!

I scrapped those pictures right away using the new Victoria's Street line (with a little bit of My Sweet Cherry Pie mixed in) by Nikki Sivils. I used Creative Scrappers Sketch #58 as inspiration.

Thanks for taking a look!
