Looking for a Challenge?

If you are like me, sometimes you need a little push to get going on your next page . . . something to focus on or something new to try. For me, that could be a sketch, a challenge, or an inspiration piece.

If you are looking to be inspired I have two challenges I wanted to mention to you today. :)

First, every two weeks you can find a new challenge prompt on the Noel Mignon Challenge blog. This week is the EIGHT IS GREAT Challenge. Use 8 manufacturers on your page. No more, no less. :)

I had a lot of fun with this one. The manufacturers I used are: Crate Paper, My Mind's Eye, Jillibean Soup, Lily Bee Design, Cosmo Cricket, American Crafts, Maya Road, and Tessa Ann Buttons (all supplies from the Sonoma County Kit).

You can also find the new monthly sketch and challenge posted on the My Mind's Eye blog HERE. I used a mixture of Blue Lush, Quite Contrary, and Life Stories on this page. My title was a phrase taken from the inspiration song, "Dream Big" by Ryan Shupe.

Here's an interesting little tidbit for you . . . I used to take mandolin lessons from Ryan in high school/college. :) And my sister took fiddle. We actually got to know their family pretty well, but just haven't kept in touch over the years. I have many fond memories of practicing and playing with my sister. We had so much fun singing together to New Grass Revival cassette tapes as we drove the two hours to and from our lesson each week. :) (Remember that, Les?) We would dream of becoming amazing jammers at bluegrass festivals and singing in bands together. Hehehehe!

My sister is still a wonderful fiddle player . . . she played a few tunes for us at our last family get-together. Me? I haven't picked up my mandolin for several years. Part of the reason is that my brother has it. :) Another reason is I've been starting/raising a family and playing with paper instead. :D

Okay, enough of my little trip down memory lane. ;)
See you again soon!
