Ack! I know! I haven't blogged in FOREVAH! Please don't start throwing tomatoes at me yet, . . . I'm here to explain to you where I have been and reward you with a GIVEAWAY for being so patient with my non-blogginess. :)
First of all, I went on a vacation to Lake Powell, where we stayed in a houseboat with my side of the familyfor a week. It was beautiful and inspiring . . . and completely "off the grid". I didn't have access to the internet for a week. It was nice to getaway, but I have to admit . . . I missed my computer! Ha!
My very favorite thing to do in Lake Powell (besides building sandcastles with my kids), is to explore all of the amazing canyons on a waverunner. It's truly a magical place!
While I was on that vacation, I had the worst toothache I have ever had in my life! I couldn't sleep. I couldn't function. It was terrible. Jaw aching . . . headaches, tooth sensitivity, etc. When I got home I went to the dentist. We had to wait several days to rule out bruising, but come Monday morning I had a root canal. UGH! Not happy about it, but I tell ya! I am soooooooooooooooo grateful to have that tooth fixed. I'm still a little sore, but it's NOTHING compared to the pain I was experiencing before.
On top of that, I started a new "job" (I'll tell you more about it next week) and a new calling in my church. I now work with the Young Women in my ward. Jensyn is in my class and I'm excited to have the extra time to hang out with her. :)
***********************************
Okay, so now that I've explained to you where I have been . . . I want to reward you for being patient with me and coming back for a visit! :D

I love finding out that my 'weird habits' aren't at all exclusive to me. *grin*
Most of all, I love the sense of community a blog can bring to those who live a ways outside of one.

ReplyDeleteI like reading blogs for inspiration, the giveaways are a bonus! thanks for a chance to win--and GOOD to "see" you back1 :)
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear from you:) I already missed you and your gorgeous layouts and cards. Sounds like you've had a wonderful time and gosh, that destination is like a paradise...so beautiful! That kit is stunning! I'd do a huge happy dance if I'd win it:) What I love about reading blogs is, first of all, that you get to 'meet' people through the digital world. Not a real meeting, but reading their postst and reading about their lifes makes it feel like you're living in their neighbourhood. I'm always the shy one, the one who shuts her mouth when someone else is talking...and in the digital world it seems like people don't judge about you at that point. I'm not shy anymore and my shames disappear. And besides that, I also love to get inspired by creations from talented artists, such as you are. Every artist has her own style and uses her own details, techniques etc. It's so nice to see how others use papers, that you've used too, it's nice to see how you can use papers in a very different way etc. etc. Let's say: I'm just a huge blog fan! And I'm just a huge fan of your work too. You rock, girl:)
ReplyDeleteLake Powell looks AMAZING!!! WOW so cool!! That kit is gorgeous too! Congrats on the new job. I like reading blogs for the inspiration mostly and it's fun when people through in tutorials and project ideas :)

I've never been able to afford Noel's kits - they are wonderful to look at and get inspiration from what you create using them.
ReplyDeleteBlogs are such a source of inspiration. They provide me with creativity during a slump moment, new techniques, photos ideas and getting to know fellow scrapbookers that share my same passion. It's a treasured part of my week when I can view other blogs. So, thank you for all your inspiration and motivation.
Kristen
What a beautiful kit! And Lake Powell looks incredible - hope you enjoyed your downtime with your extended family!
ReplyDeleteI love surfing blogs to keep in touch with friends and family, get inspiration and project ideas, and I find that often I will discover new sites that bloggers recommend!

I'm sure it is your photographer skills, but what camera do you have?
ReplyDeleteGreat photos! I enjoy scrapbooking blogs because of the inspiration I get from looking at other people's work. The best blogs are those written by ordinary people who don't even realize what fantastic writers they are. Some of the best writers are the unpublished ones!

ReplyDeleteI love to read blogs that have layout ideas and tips on techniques on how to make the layout your own!
ReplyDeleteHoly comments Batman! :) Your photos are awesome Jana! So glad you're back!
ReplyDeleteI surf blogs for a few reasons- one I really want to see the projects and use them as inspiration for my idea bank. I also like to see what and how they tackle the themes for their pages. Then in the end I go back to certain blogs because they are inspirational creatively, but also as a person I can get to know a bit of who they are and feel a bit connected like we may have something in common
ReplyDeleteI stop by your blog daily! needless to say I was very happy to see you back.
ReplyDeleteI visit blogs too see new lines and products, and I love reading after the kids have gone to bed. I simply love stopping by yours for inspiration! We have a monthly group who scrap together...and we love using your sketches. A friend will always say "couldnt we just lift it? it is perfect! why reinvent the wheel"

Most of the blogs that I read are scrapbooking or cardmaking blogs and I read them for inspiration. If they are favourites, I keep them on my blog reader so that I can check them out on a regular basis. I love your blog and get lots of ideas from you, so keep up the good work!! Sorry about your tooth, I have had a few root canals myself and know that they aren't fun. Your vacation looks like it was alot of fun! Glad you are back though!
ReplyDeleteUgh, not too fun to come home from a little vacation to a root canal!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite part of reading blogs is getting cool ideas, catching up on my bloggy friends and it's way more fun than the morning paper! LOL
Glad you had a break and it looks beautiful. What I love best about blogs are the inspiring projects
ReplyDeleteIt depends on which blog I am reading on what I enjoy best. Some blogs I read for the inspiration and some blogs I read for the entertainment factor.
ReplyDeleteGlad you are back! I love to blog hop because of all the inspiration and talented people. I love it when I see something "outside the box".
ReplyDeleteFor me it's the projects. it inspires me to create something. You are a great source of inspiration for me. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteHey Jana! Good to see you back! Sounds like a wonderful time at the lake and now I want to go check it out :) Also, congratulations on the new "job" whatever it might be and your new calling at the church. Best of luck in both. I love reading your blog because I find your work so inspiring. I have often scraplifted some of your ideas :) Thanks and keep up the awesome work!
ReplyDeleteOver course I love seeing your scrapbook pages. As I am a scrapbooker too that is a given. However, its not just the layouts I enjoy. I also really appreciate your perspective.
ReplyDeleteFor example your comments about using your camera phone because its really the memory that matters reminded me why we love this hobby.
WOW!!! Pretty awesome giveaway. I love blogging because it's such a grand way to glimpse at a little piece of people's personal world. To see how people create, the process they go through and the willingness to share with others. That is an amazing blessing!
ReplyDeleteThank YOU for sharing so much inspiration and allowing me plenty of scraplifts!!!! LOL
Hugs,
Damaris
I love the projects - especially those that aren't like my style.
ReplyDeleteI was wondering where you were, but after seeing the amazing pics, I would disappear as well..

I love to read blogs for the tips, whether scrapbooking related or otherwise. Second to that would be the GIVEAWAYS! :)

ReplyDeleteHellooooo. Lake Powell looks like a beautiful place to visit. I think you're brave spending a whole week without a computer LOL.
ReplyDeleteI love reading blogs for the tips especially, but I love a pretty photo to look at too.
What a beautiful picture. House boating is so much fun. I love reading blogs for tips, techniques and projects! Love your blog!
ReplyDeleteWelcome Home Jana! Your vacation photos are simply stunning. Glad your tooth is feeling better, nothing worse than tooth pain >.<
ReplyDeleteWhy do I like reading blogs? It's all about inspiration. Scrapbook blogs inpire me to create something with all my pretty papers and embellishments. Art blogs inspire me to draw. And some others offer funny or thoughtful antecdotes about life, that make me laugh or cry (in a good way). What better way to start a day than with a cup of coffee and a blogroll??!!
What I enjoy the most about your blog is how completely down to earth, and personable you are! I feel like I know you, and I've watched your kids grow. I also absolutely adore your scrapping style, and am always glad to see what you do with the product that I must rush right out and get!
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about your tooth, there really is nothing like tooth pain. Glad it's all taken care of and you can scrap pain-free!
Look forward to seeing what you post next....
Jana those photos look amazing. It looks like a fabulous place to go on vacation. Great to read your tooth is no longer a pain. The thing I enjoy most about reading blogs is the fun stories everyone shares. It's amazing how much you can get to know someone (or think you know them)simple by following their blog. Techniques are always a Huge favorite too!
ReplyDeleteI could have sworn I had left a comment before but I don't see it- weird!
ReplyDeleteI love to follow blogs because of all of the amazing inspiration- from tutorials, projects, and tips, what's not to love? Giveaways are always nice to find too. I really do love the blog world! :D
I blogged about this giveaway yesterday at scrappygolucky.blogspot.com Thanks for the chance! :)
Being that my time to scrapbook these days is very limited it is nice to still be able to take a peek into what wonderful things others are creating and honestly, I love the types of blogs that give some insight into their lives at the same time.
ReplyDeleteI read blogs near daily for inspiration and motivation. Just reading/seeing all the creativity happening motivates me to create.
ReplyDeleteI mostly like reading for the projects, I love seeing what other people have created, and am constantly amazed at the variety of talent out there. It always inspires me to go and get crafting! I have just become a follower so I can keep seeing your awesome pages!
ReplyDeleteI also go to blogs for the mix of things though, if a blog is just about projects it doesn't necessarily have much life in it, so I like it when a blog includes lots of stories and photos too. xx
So happy to see you back, Jana! I was getting a little worried, LOL! Glad you were away doing happy things!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite thing about blogs is to look at the scrapbook pages people make. I always love seeing yours!
Oh wow! It would make my DAY, my YEAR to win this prize package!! How wonderful!!!
ReplyDeleteMy favourite thing about reading blogs is getting inspired by the beautiful layouts and photos people share.
ReplyDeleteLove your most recent sketch! I am always inspired by your sketches and your work! I go to different blogs for different things, some have good tutorials, some have good ideas and I just like to see what others are doing. Very generous giveaway, thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteI love reading blogs for several reasons. Like for instance, I totally want to show DH this post tomorrow and see about going there for our next vacation! I love going to blogs for inspiration in scrapping, in life, in fasion...sometimes it is just to relax!
ReplyDeleteI love reading snippets on how people live! I must be a curious person because I do enjoy the photographs, the bits of information about children, the cookery - everything in fact!
ReplyDeleteThe giveaways are the bonus.
If this is open for overseas readers I would like to be entered.
OMG Jana, your vacation spot looked absolutely breathtaking!! (well deserved)
ReplyDeleteI love checking out blogs for ideas and just to see what my favorites are up to around the world! Nice to see you are back blogging.
Thanks for the opportunity to win this amazing prize...I'm crossing my fingers!
Oh, wow, those photos of your vactaion spot are amazing! Without a doubt, my #1 reason for reading blogs is INSPRIRATION! Sometimes for layouts, other times for projects, sometimes home decor or organizing, but I always come away learning something new and creative after a nice long time "in the blogs."
ReplyDeleteWell, this more than makes up for any tardiness, hee!
ReplyDeleteHello Jana, what a beautiful photo's you took on your vacation. Seems like your the only people on teh world there. Thanks for this huge giveaway and the change for us to take part in it. What I look for in a blog is inspiration. The more lo's I can see, the happier I am. So your blog is great the way it is. Love to see your work. Bye Irene
ReplyDeleteI love give-aways, naturally, but I visit blogs for the layouts. I always hope to find something interesting and new!
ReplyDeleteI love the lay-out ideas and different uses of products. I love blogs with sketches. And I love blogs with tutorials.
ReplyDeleteI love to read blogs as it gives me a lot of inspiration for my own layouts and also a great way to see so many varieties of crafts.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about your toothache, having had root canal treatment this past week myself I really sympathise.
Giveaways are always a plus on blogs, but the reason I keep returning is for the layout inspiration! A scrapbooking blog wouldn't be a scrapbooking blog without at least one picture of a layout per post or at the least every other post!

I just love her kits they are packed with such wonderful goodies!
ReplyDeleteHow fabulous that you got to have some time away with your family!! That's what it's all about eh?

Holiday time for the kids means busy times for mums...hard to squeeze in the blogging at times ;-D I like to read blogs to get an idea about what life is like in other parts of the world to braoden my horizons & because it's the intelligent thing to do, rather than just think that all that exists is within our borders. I have learnt so much about the worl & people this way!
ReplyDeletethanks for this chance... I like the projetc but also tip and tutorial!
