May's kit at Crop Addict features two amazing paper lines, Webster's Pages and 7 Gypsies. YUM! I had a lot of fun experimenting with pattern and color combinations with this one. Here are my projects!
This layout was done using a sketch by Laura Shreve, a fellow DT member at Crop Addict. AWESOME sketch, Laura! ;) My daughter was wearing a pink, yellow and red striped shirt sitting on our couch that is gold and red . . . kind of a funky color combination going on! Sooooo, I decided to do some work on it in Photoshop to fix this problem. First, I converted the photo to black and white. Then I added a 2nd layer (the color photo) on top of it. I erased everything in the color photo except for my daughter's math award, letting the b/w image to show up behind it. Flatten image . . . and Wah-Lah! A fun photo that keeps the focus on what you want it to!
On this layout, I wanted to experiment with some funky pattern/color combinations. I can't really tell if I went a little too far (LOL!), but I like the eclectic feel of it anyway. :) These are pictures of my 9-year-old daughter when she turned one. I've been holding onto them forever, because I could never find a patterned paper that I liked with them. When I opened up this month's kit, I was thrilled! I finally had some paper to scrap these with! I tried to keep the style on these more on the simple side since they will be next to pages I did eight years ago. LOL!
For my project I borrowed an idea from the PaperTrey Ink blog. It is a Father's Day Wallet Card. Cute idea, huh?! I couldn't resist it either! I added a Driver's License area to mine and embellished it a little more, but if you would like complete instructions, go HERE.
