February BackPorch Memory Projects

I was sent the Medley kit to work with this month, but I couldn't help but order the Solo Kit with the Rusty Pickle Lucky Line, too! Really fun kits!

Maryn can cross her eyes unlike anyone else! It scares me actually. I keep thinking her little eyes are going to roll back inside her head and never go back to normal. On top of that, she makes this total goofy "Tweedle Dee, Tweedle Dum" mouth when she does it and looks like such a silly goose! Well, atleast one day I'll have a crazy picture of her to show her boyfriends, right? LOL! Owen's soccer team this year came up with the clever name of the Cement Kickers. Ya know, their uniforms are gray, like cement! LOL! They crack me up!

A quick card using a sketch by Janelle Richmond. I absolutely LOVE that girl's work and I've been digging her challenge blogs lately. Google her to find them. She ROCKS! And the DT work on each of them is INCREDIBLE! (Go Molly! Go Kim! Go Allison! Go Jenn!)
My dad was trying out his new telephoto lens by taking our pictures from across a bridge. I love this picture he caught, because we're all just our natural silly, selves, . . . pretty much 'cause we were making fun of him. :)My cute kids! :) Yeah, I'm pretty lucky to have them . . . remind me on the days I don't feel like it, though, . . . Okay? :)
I think this was the first year we began our St. Patrick's Day tradition of "Pat the Leprechaun". My daughter was in preschool at the time and came home telling me how they were making Leprechaun Traps because Pat the Leprechaun was going to visit their classroom and leave them treats. She asked me if he was going to visit our house, too. It sounded fun! So ever since then, Pat the Leprechaun leaves a trail of limirick-type clues to a green treasure every St. Paddy's morning. (Thanks Ms. Mikel for the idea! ;) )

So are you ready for Valentine's Day? I'M SOOOOO NOT! My family has been sick this past week. It's been pure survival . . . the kind of days where you have cereal for breakfast, lunch and dinner. And that's if you feel up to eating. Fortunately, I haven't got the "bug" yet. (Knock on wood!) Everyone is getting better and I hope they feel good enough to celebrate in a few days.

I'm waiting for my Current order to get here with the kids valentines in them. As a scrapbooker, you might be expecting me to handmake them all, right? WRONG. It's a strict tradition that they get ordered from the Current Catalog. LOL! I've been doing it that way since I was a little kid. It just wouldn't feel right if we did it different. KWIM? Although, if they don't get here, we might be making use of Grandpa's Copy Shop to whip them out in time. :)

Do you have any Valentine's Day traditions? I'd LOVE to hear them. Check back tomorrow to hear about ours.

  1. Beautiful layouts Jana! Let's see...Valentines traditions...I always sit down with the girls to make Valentines together, and prepare little bags of candy for their friends. They love handing those out! We always do heart cookies, and heart cupcakes, and they get a Valentines bag of goodies (kind of like an Easter basket) from mom & dad. We like V-Day! :)
