My Mind's Eye and Color Combos #149

Good Morning, Friends! And Happy 4th of July to everyone in the USA! :D

I created this page for My Mind's Eye's blog post about Celebrating Where We Live.

We love to go to the 4th of July parades each year as a family. It is a great time to reflect on how blessed we are to live where we do, to enjoy the freedoms we enjoy, and pay tribute to those who serve our country. I always get teary-eyed whenever I see my kids put their hands over their hearts to show respect for our country's flag. Saluting the flag at the beginning of the parade is my favorite part!

I used a mixture So Sophie's Charming, Savvy, and Graceful collections to obtain the red, white, blue, navy, and gold color scheme for this page. The Lush brads and gems add the perfect amount of sparkle as a finishing touch! I LOVE those Lush goodies! Such a great staple item to have on hand. :)

The Inspiration Board at Color Combos Galore this week is a delicious one! Gotta love those fun colors of the delicious cupcakes! So much inspiration can be drawn from that photo, too. The circles, the rosebud flowers, the wood in the table, . . . those sweet little mushrooms! I hope you'll come over and play along with us! :D

I know. I have scrapped these pictures before. But I just didn't love what I did with them last time, so I thought I'd play with them again. :) Please tell me, I'm not the only one that does that sometimes. :)

I used the round shape of the cupcakes to ground my photos. I pleated some Jenni Bowlin crepe paper around the edge of the circle to mimic a cupcake liner. I LOVE working on these Color Combo challenges because they get me to pull out all kinds of older and newer items in my stash and mix them together in ways I would have never thought to do on my own.

Those pink swirls are by Zva Creative (PE-03CA-111) . . . LOVE! I can't get enough of their colored pearl accents. So much fun!

This week I have lots on the docket . . . CHA samples, a birthday party for my little one with her friends, and teaching a mini book class at my church. Lots of fun to come!

I hope you have a great week!

Hugs,
Jana

What your mini-book theme for the class at church? That sounds fun :)
