Whew! Busy Week! (Photo Heavy)

PHOTO-HEAVY POST AHEAD

You know I've been a bad blogger when I my sister lectures me to get on the ball. (Thanks, Leslee! ;) ) But seriously!!! This week has been C-R-A-Z-Y! End-of-year school activities and more. Here's a little sampling from my past week.

Get together with family to paint flower pots for Memorial Day







SUNDAY -Mom still recovering from head cold. UGH!

Soooo, I hope you'll forgive me. :) *batting eyelashes* I'm sure you've got lots going on, too.

I do have a few My Cute Stamps projects to show you using the Picnic with Little Red stampset and So Sophie My Mind's Eye papers.



Little Red Riding Hood -



This past Halloween Maryn wore my Little Red Riding Hood costume that my mom made for me when I was a girl. She looked adorable! One of these days I need to have my dad send me a picture of me in that same costume and do a side-by-side page. :) Wouldn't that be fun?






I used the Making Memories Slice to cut the letters for the word "red" as well as the red patterned paper flowers. The red Paper Flowers are spritzed with Shimmerz Redy Or Not Vibez.

Isn't that little apple perfect for a Thank You note for your child's teacher? :)



The "Thanks" stamp is from the Eeek! A Monster! stampset .

Today marks the day that a NEW challenge is up on the Noel Mignon Challenge Blog: A Week in the Life Challenge.

I have been turned on to a fun new photo editing site called BE FUNKY. A place where you can add super fun, super funky effects to your photos. And it's super easy! You can use it for free, but you will get a watermark in the corner (can be cropped out later). Or join for more options. The fees are very reasonable, especially compared to the price of photo-editing software. Perfect for scrapbookers, right?!!!

I used one of the Black & White setting on these photos for the page for my post on the Pink Paislee Blog today.

On this page, I used lots of Bayberry Cottage: Papers, Punchouts, Clear Stamps, Clear Borderline Sticker, Ribbon Pleat, and Cork Buttons. The title is created with the Blackberry Weathered Wood Expressions Alphabets (I can't get enough of these!).



And then for added OOMPH I accented my page with lots of Zva Creative Crystal Accents. I used crystals to embellish the layered cork buttons (CR-02CB-101), a flourish to accent my title (CRS-02CB-101), and crystal lines on top of the ribbon pleat (CR-01CB-109).



Fun stuff, right?! I can't wait to play around with the Old Photo, Grunge, and Sunburst photo effects by BeFunky next.

The New Design Team at Noel Mignon was posted this past weekend and I'm happy to say that I will be returning!!! WOOT!!! WOOT!!! I have been serving as DT Coordinator and will continue that position for the next 6 month term. YAY!!!

April "Top 10" Page

I have had so much fun joining in with the designers at My Mind's Eye creating a Top 10 page every month. My April page for the "Top 10's of 2010" challenge is all about the candy . . . the Easter Candy!



I thought it would be fun to remember all the yummy candy treats in the kids Easter baskets. Do your kids dump out all their treats on the floor like mine do? Some of the treats were unique to this year, while others are classics that appear annually. It will be fun to look back on the contents of their baskets years from now and remember the candies and treats we love.



I combined the Quite Contrary "Mary, Mary" collection with the chipboard accents and brads from the Abbey Road "Whirlybird" collection. I love that the colors from these two collections compliment each other so well!

I have another My Mind's Eye page to share with you today. A page using their new Meadowlark - Dusk collection. It's such an elegant collection and I thought the tone-on-tone black and white color scheme would work great to scrap Owen's Baptism Day.

Making Flowers with Border Stamps

The NEW Noel Mignon Lemonade Stand kit (Just 13 LEFT!!!) includes an adorable little stamp set by Prima with two lace border pieces. Naturally you could use these to add a border strip along your page somewhere, or even stamp several strips and create a mitered frame around the edge of your page or a photo. But today I wanted to show you how you could use the border stamps to create FLOWERS.



First, stamp your image repeatedly along a strip of smooth cardstock. I used the edge of the paper as my guide. If you would like a larger flower, simply leave a space from the edge. You will need two 12" stamped strips per flower.



Next, score your stamped strip along the design. You will want to score in two places along the design; the top of the scallop and the bottom of the scallop.



You will have something that looks like this.



Next, cut out your design.



Fold the strip accordian style along the scored lines. You should now have two strips that look like this.



Glue the two strips together end-to-end, matching up the pattern. You will now have a circle that looks like this.



Punch a circle from a scrap piece of cardstock. Apply a glob of quick-drying glue or hot glue to the center. Gather your circle together and push it down flat into a flower shape. Adhere to circle and hold in place until the glue dries.



This is what the back of the flower looks like. My cardstock dried a little off-center, but that won't matter because you won't see it. :)



The larger flower will have the white portion of the strip towards the center. Don't worry about that, you can cover it up with a flower center.



Decorate the center of your flower as desired with a patterned paper, fabric, felt, buttons, brads . . . it's up to you!



I chose to cut a design from patterned paper and then layered a dimensional sticker on top.
