Embossing and Shimmerz and a Noel Kit . . . Oh, My!

Bad blogger, Jana! Bad blogger! :)

Last week was NUTSO at my house. And I'm sure you had a similar list going on at your house! :) Lots of Valentine craftiness (Valentine boxes, Helping the kids sign, stuff, address 70 valentines, Making Valentine boxes, Making and kitting a Valentine craft for a class party, making sugar cookies, etc. etc. etc.), Primary preparedness (Burning & Labelling 50 Primary CD's, Making 60 Valentines for my Primary kids, Preparing for my Singing Time Lesson), Preparing for a Stake Valentine's Dance (packaging prizes, printing quizzes, table tents, etc.), and people being sick (Jensyn had an ear infection and I haven't been feeling well). So I apologize for not posting. But, I did it! I made it through the week! LOL!

I had so much fun creating the cloud embellishments on this page for this week's Be Inspired challenge at the Cuttlebug Challenge Blog. :)

First, I handcut my clouds from white cardstock and embossed them using my Cuttlebug. I used the Swiss Dots and Houndstooth folders. When I held my clouds up to my page they were too bright against the other off-white elements of my page. I used Treasured Hymn Spritz by Shimmerz Paints to tone them down and give them an antinque feeling.

Next, I added Morning Mist Pearlz by Shimmerz Paints along the edges of the clouds. I like how it made them feel more dimensional. The final touch was a coat of Pixie Dust Blingz by Shimmerz Paints . Now my clouds are sparkly and magical! :D I wish I could take pictures to do them justice! They are so sparkly and FUN!!! The felt layered butterflies are also sparkling with a coat of the Pixie Dust Blingz . . . what a versatile paint!

If you don't have any Pixie Dust Blingz or your unsure of which one to try first . . . Pixie Dust Blingz goes with EVERYTHING! :D You will love it!

Page created with the Noel Mignon Object of My Affection kit.

Thanks for coming by!
Jana

  1. Oh wow your clouds are amazing, I love how they pop off the page with dimension because of the process you did with them, I am so excited to be getting my first Noel Mignon kit soon, yay, thank you for letting me see your wonderful designs which prompted me to get it. The photos of your children are magic, and what a gorgeous design your daughter was holding with hand prints on it.
