Family Outing & New Asian Cuttlebug Folders

Tonight we went on a family outing to downtown Salt Lake City. It was COOOOOOLLLLLDDD! But so much fun!

We went to see the lights on Temple Square, took a carriage ride around the city and then had dinner at the Little America Hotel. The girls loved walking around the hotel afterwards looking at all the "fancy" architectural details. Jensyn said to me, "I want a house just like this when I grow up." Fun times!

Kevin trying to get the kids to smile with a "Saaaayyyy PONIES!!!" Hmmmm. Do I detect an eyeroll from Owen?! LOL!

Oh, yes. Classic Maryn with the tongue out. :) Matches the spiritual feeling of the photo with the floating lights on the pond in front of the temple, don't ya think?

Owen sort of reminds me of a turtle barely peeking out of his scarf-shell all night long. Hee hee!

Cam was so relaxed by the sound of the trotting horse, that she actually dozed off towards the end of the carriage ride.

Did you see the new Asian Cuttlebug folders that will be coming out at CHA?!!! They are soooo pretty! Love the patterns and I LOVE that they are doing the larger 5 X 7 size! Here is a picture . . . but be sure to check out the Cuttlebug Challenge blog for additional photos by Maggie Lamarre where she posts actual samples of cardstock embossed with this new set . . . GORGEOUS!!! I especially love the patterns!

*****ETA: I thought I would let you know that if you are interested in these you can buy the Asian Folders right now on the Cricut site HERE.*****

That's it for tonight! I've been scrapping, but they are things I need to keep HUSH! HUSH! until CHA so I'm unable to show you yet. ;) Let's just say . . . you are going to GO CRAZY over the new Bella Blvd. WOWSERS!!!! ;) (Hehehehe! What a tease I am!)

Stay warm!

In Bloom Projects for My Little Shoebox

The colors in the In Bloom collection by My Little Shoebox are so girly and fun! Pinks, purples, yellows, blues, and browns . . . perfect colors for a house with three daughters!!! :D

Camryn's First Day - I've scrapped these pictures of Cam a few months ago, but I like to scrap my kids' school & Halloween photos two times each; once for their school albums, and another time to go in our family albums. I love how these papers coordinate perfectly with Cam's dress and backpack . . . And I just HAD to make a giant pencil from that yummy, dark yellow dot paper. :) FUN!

Farm Fun - More pictures from the pumpkin patch! This time the girls were riding the Cow Train. They had such a great time!

Sweet - Our sweet and spunky Cam! I used this everyday photo of our girl to record some of my favorite things about her right now. :) She is such a fun kid!

Thanks for popping by!

Christmas Movie Quote Challenge at Noel MIgnon

The next challenge is up on the Noel Mignon Challenge blog . This time we are using a quote from our favorite Christmas Movie on a page. My all-time favorite Christmas movie is ELF. Even though I have seen it a million times, I still giggle at every scene. :)

I used the quote "The best way to spread Christmas Cheer is by singing loud for all to hear" on this page of my daughter at her Christmas Choir concert. WHEW! That was a lot of words to fit on a page, maybe it's a little too busy now! LOL! Oh, well! It makes me smile!

I also used the Dear Santa kit to decorate this paint can to hold candy and a Home Depot gift card from my brother. The artisan label paper shape is by Anna Griffin(picked up at Michael's in the summer) and I cut out the "Merry Christmas" using my silhouette (image available on the Silhouette site).

Don't forget the new Noel Mignon kit, the "Paper Doll" kit, will be up for sale on Dec. 26th.

The kids are off from school and are having a grand ol' time arguing with each other and tearing up the house. (I know all you teachers are giggling to yourselves. ;) ) But they are having fun. As long as it is picked up for when Santa comes, I'm fine with it. :)

Happy Holiday celebrating!
Talk to you again soon!

Sweater Posies

It's my week to do the Tip & Technique over at Noel Mignon and here is what I came up with. :)

See this sweater? I love it, but it has definitely seen it's day. The color has faded a bit and there are three holes in it where I caught it on something. Time to throw it out . . . or is it?! :D

Cut several graduating circles out of a thinner sweater (something with an open weave or too bumpy of a texture will get caught in your sewing machine during the next step).

Load your sewing machine up with a similar colored thread and zig zag around the edges of the circle. As you sew, stretch and pull at the sweater fabric . . . don't worry, you can't mess this up. Don't worry about being too perfect about it because you won't really see your stitches with the same colored thread.

The sweater circle's edges will curl up naturally as you work with it, but you can also use your fingers to twist and bend the edges into place if you would like. :)

Now layer the circles together, add a button and you have a darling Sweater Posie to add to your page.

Check out this one where I layered two different colors together. Fun, right?! :D :D :D

And this is how it will look on your page.

Shimmerz Paint Giveaway on Scrapbook Trends Blog

Hey!!! Lookie HERE!!! Shimmerz Paints are being featured on the Scrapbook Trends blog . Make sure you leave a comment for a chance to win 5 jars of Shimmerz and 5 Spritz Miniz of your choice!

WoooHOOOOOO! :D

P.J. Pictures and My Mind's Eye

I am IN LOVE (no pun intended) with the new Beloved collection by My Mind's Eye. Teal and Red are my favorite colors and they are just beautiful mixed with the soft pinks in these papers.

I created this page using this collection for the latest challenge on the My Mind's Eye blog.

The challenge was to follow the provided sketch and handmake your own flowers. I chose to make my flowers out of bookpaper . . . one of my favorite neutrals! I love how I can layer together several punched flowers, ink them, crumple them up and WAH-LAH!! Done! They always look great against patterned papers, too! :)

Do you have a Christmas Pajama tradition at your house? I know that a lot of families do. :) It's so funny! Every year, my kids get sooooo excited that they get to open one present on Christmas Eve. That is . . . until they rip open the box and remember that mom & dad ALWAYS give them a new pair of PJ's every year. LOL! What a deflating moment. :) Hehehehe! They get over it soon enough, though. Then they happily put them on and pose for a few snapshots. Traditions! Gotta love 'em!

12 Days of Christmas

Have you popped over to the Cuttlebug Challenge Blog lately? Right now we are having a 12 Days of Christmas Event full of inspirational ideas . . . Come check it out!

cuttlebugchallengexmas

Today is the Fifth Day of Christmas and you know what my true love gave to me? . . . Not Five Golden Rings . . . but Five Golden NAPKIN rings! Hehehe!

I am hosting this year's holiday dinner and I thought it would be a lot of fun to create my own coordinating napkin rings.

I used a heavy cardboard tube and covered it with embossed and misted cardstocks. I used the Cuttlebug VICTORIA and DISTRESSED STRIPES folders. To finish them off I added a red and green checked ribbon with a large red jewel brad. I love the way they turned out!

***************************************

I've also been using my Cuttlebug embossing folders to create some cute gift bags. This folder is called Mistletoe Kisses and is only available at Oh, My Crafts! What I love about this folder is that it is 5 X 7 . . . a little bit larger than the regular A2 folders.

I used the Mistletoe Kisses folder to emboss some kraft paper sacks. I then decorated the bag with patterned papers and topped it off with a ribbon. Fast, cute and EASY!!! My daughter is filling them with bath gels, lip gloss and candy to give to her friends.

***************************************

My son wanted to give candy bars to his friends for Christmas, but I wanted to find a cute way to dress them up. I did a search on 2 Peas in a Bucket and found this adorable Snowman Candy Bar idea.

HERE IS THE PATTERN.

Didn't they turn out adorable?!! Gotta love quick gift ideas this point in the game, right?! :D :D :D

How are your Christmas crafts and goodies coming along?

Talk to you soon!

Santa Stop Here Sign

I created this fun doorhanger using a wood plaque sign from the Dollar Tree, the Noel Mignon Dear Santa kit, Shimmerz paints and Zva Creative Pearls . I love creating door hangers! They are the perfect decoration to spread a little Christmas cheer in an unexpected place. :)

And what Christmas project wouldn't be complete without a little shimmer and shine?!! The paper pieced Chrismtas Tree is painted with Pixie Dust Blingz. The cream cardstock background is spritzed with Treasured Hymn, Mudpie and Licorice Spritz.

Design inspired by a card sketch by Juliana Michaels.

(Click on each photo for a better view.)

I love the way the Zva Creative Pearls act as ornaments for the tree! Love that so many different colors and sizes come in one package!

Thanks so much for coming by!

Night Before Christmas

Do you know what is really getting me in the mood for Christmas this year? :) Pulling out some snapshots and scrapping them with my Noel Mignon Dear Santa kit (sold out)! Really! I know I should be wrapping presents, but I can't resist scrapping a page here-and-there.

Each Christmas Eve after the kids have unwrapped their new pajamas from mom and dad and put them on, and after they've set out the milk and cookies for Santa, they always gather around the computer with my husband to check on Santa's whereabouts on the NoradSanta.org site. It's fun to see where Santa is in the world and always helps the kids feel that extra urge to get to bed! :)

Page inspired by the 12.10 sketch by Sketchy Thursdays.

I have to let you know! Noel has started posting sneaks of the January kit in the Noel Mignon forum and I am already SWOONING!!! The Noel Mignon PAPER DOLL kit will be up for sale on Dec. 26th. So make sure you save that holiday gift money to pick up one of these absolutely DARLING kits for yourself!!! And don't worry if you don't have any girls to scrap . . . you're a girl, right?!! I say you deserve a treat! ;)

Here are the sneaks so far.

Enjoy your day!
