Noel Mignon Back to School Challenge

Yep! It's time for another challenge! Check out the Noel Mignon Challenge blog today to find out what it is . . . but, I bet you can guess by looking at my page! ;)

I created this page using the new Core Curriculum kit (sorry, sold out) and a few additional buttons from my stash. We have a tradition to take our first day photos on our front porch. I make a page of each kid for their school album of just them, and then I like to make a page with all of the kids together for our family album. My younger daughter Maryn was quite the poser this day! LOL! Check her out! Strutting her 1st-grade-stuff! LOL! Fun times! Fun times!!!

Have a great week!

Whoo Loves You Collection by My Little Shoebox

This month I worked with the Whoo Loves You collection for My Little Shoebox. I am in LOVE with the cutouts in this line! Happy trees, lots of fun buildings, and those cute owls and birdie. So fun!

Daddy's Girl

I had to use the owls for this Daddy/daughter page of Kevin and Camryn. These two are special buddies right now. :) It was fun to record a few of their little traditions. :) I accented the birds' eyes with black brads. Journal spots were made by me on my computer.

School Rocks

I love how this line looks with purple and pink! :) Here's Jens all decked out for her first day of school. :) This building reminded me of an old-fashioned schoolhouse, so I accented it with a button "bell". The binder clips are from Michael's dollar spot. The flowers/buttons/mesh are from my stash.

You are Special to Me

Love this picture of my cute family on summer getaway to the cabin. :) I added lots of brown to this page to play up the "mountain" feel I wanted it to have. I thought that little house looked like a comfy, little mountain cottage. I then added lots of stitching and buttons for a cozy feel! :)

Well, those are my projects for the month! Be sure to stop by the My Little Shoebox blog to see the rest of the designers' creations for the month. Those gals always knock my socks off!

Have a great weekend!

Nikki Sivils & a Tea Party

Thanks, Everyone!!! for celebrating with me about My Mind's Eye! I really am just so excited about it and it's nice to have people who "get it" be excited with me! ;)

I know I owe you some pics from my vacation, etc. but I just haven't had a spare minute to edit them! YIKES!!! You may just have to wait to see them in a future layout. LOL! Both Maryn and Jensyn's birthdays are this weekend, and we're still getting adjusted to school starting. If there were only more hours in the day, right? :)

I do have some Nikki Sivils projects to share with you. This month the design team created cards using the Nikki Sivils stamps. You can see all of them on the Nikkis Sivils Blog HERE.

I used the tree shapes from the "My Sweet Cherry Pie" stamp set to create this fall card.

On this page, I used the owl and papers from the Henry's Brilliance line to create a forest/four-wheeling page. It's not often that I scrap with a lot of blue, so this was fun!

Finally, I will share with you the invitation I made for Maryn's Birthday Tea Party this weekend. I have a bit of an addiction to My Cute Stamps lately (like you couldn't tell, right? LOL!) I've never really gone gaga for stamping, but these ones keep begging me to pull them out again and again! LOVE 'em!!! For this card I used the Tea Party set.

I knew I was going to be using pastel colors, so I used Gray ink instead of black to stamp my images so the contrast wouldn't be so harsh. I added the grass, sky and blush on the girl's cheeks using chalks. Everything else was filled in using colored pencils. I added Poinsettia Pink Blingz over the top of the pink dress for a bit of shimmer. :) The tea pot/cups and the sparkly dots on the background are done using Crystal Stickles.

I really did spend WAY too much time on these for a 6 year old birthday party, but they were really fun to do. LOL! I just wanted them to be pretty, frilly, and all things girly. :) I guess that's the curse of being a paper crafter. :) Hey! And atleast I used up some of my Basic Grey stash. ;)

Well, thanks for coming by today!
I'll be back tomorrow with my monthly projects for My Little Shoebox.
Hope to see you then!

Shimmerz Paints & Cornish Heritage Farms Stamps

Are you getting excited for Fall?! I know I am! The changing of this season is my very favorite time of year! :) I know, I know! It's still warm, but at sunset there is a subtle nip in the air and that means it's beginning to change. YAY!!!! :D :D :D Love it! Love it! Love it!

This month at Shimmerz, I was lucky to participate in the product swap withCornish Heritage Farms Stamps. I got to play with this adorable Kim Hughes stamp set called "Autumn Trees". I love this set and can imagine myself using it in many, many ways! :)

Welcome Autumn Card - For my first project, I couldn't resist creating a happy, Fall scene on the front of my card.

I stamped all my images on cream cardstock using Timber Brown Staz On ink and then used Shimmerz paints to color them in. For the tree, I used Choc-o-lot Shimmerz on the trunk, and both Sunny and Sunflower Shimmerz on the leaves. The scarecrow is painted with Choc-o-lot, Green Olive, Sunflower, Marigold, and Fire Engine Red Shimmerz. The leaves on the ground are Sunflower. The pumpkins are Green Olive and Marigold Shimmerz. The lines of the pumpkin are shaded with Spiced Cider Blingz. I then stamped the sentiment on a small piece of canvas and used lots of stitching for a homespun, Autumn feel. :)

Welcome Card - I just had to use that cute crow image for a "Welcome" card. He just has a friendly, home-y feeling about him! :)

Again, I used Timber Brown Staz On ink to stamp my images. I painted the leaves using Sunflower and Fire Engine Red Shimmerz, and Spiced Cider Blingz. The crow is filled in with Coffee Shimmerz.

A big THANK YOU to Cornish Heritage Farms for swapping with Shimmerz! Be sure to check out the Shimmerz blog throughout the week for more Cornish Heritage Farms stamping projects from other DT members. :)

Thanks for coming by!

Noel Mignon Core Curriculum Kit

Just wanted to let you know that the new kit by Noel Mignon, the Core Curriculum kit, went up for sale TONIGHT. :)

Here are a few pictures for your viewing pleasure! Not included in the Main picture, but included in the kit are the Tag Book (how cool is that?!) and the Jillibean Soup ribbon.

*********************************

Also, while I was away last week, a new challenge went up on the Noel Mignon Challenge Blog today; scraplifting Tara Van Moorsel! Wow! She is amazing! I love everything Tara creates, so this was a treat to lift her page. :) Here is my take on it using the Five Foot Two kit (sold out).

I love the texture that Tara puts into her pages. I tried to pull that into my layout by using the handcut leaf border, Sassafras Layered Blossoms , and the Blue Prima Cherry Blossom Branch . I loved that she used a variety of butterflies (stamped, punched, etc.) and copied that idea on my page as well. Thanks for the inspiration, Tara!

Okay, I promise that's it for tonight! LOL! Whew! 3 posts in one day! I guess I'm chatty to make up for this past week I didn't blog. Hehehehe! ;)

XOXOXOXOX

Urban Anthology Sketch

Oh! I have one more sketch for you today! This one posted at Urban Anthology while I was away on vacation last week. :)

August Scrapperie Kit

Hi Friends! Have you missed me?! Har, har, har! ;) After two birthday parties at our house last Saturday, we left for a week-long vacation to beautiful McCall, Idaho. It was W-O-N-D-E-R-F-U-L!!! We went boating on the lake, slept in every morning (well, as much as you can with kids running around), and ate lots of food! Such a great getaway!

I have so many pictures to share with you, . . . and here I was all ready to download all of them from my camera . . . I go to use the card reader on my color printer and it won't recognize my card because it wants me to change an ink cartridge. Grrrrr! which . . . I won't be able to buy until Monday. :( Sooooo! You'll have to wait until then to hear more about my week. ;)

In the meantime, I have a bunch of projects to share with you.

While I was away, the Scrapperie August kits revealed. I worked with the Fruit Salad kit.

The thing I LOVE about Scrapperie kits is they are workhorses! There is so much paper in these kits that you could practically create an entire album from all the yummy coordinating paper. I decided this time around I would work on a bunch of pages for my niece's baby album. :) And I'm so happy I did!

Here are the pages I created, along with the matching sketches I created for the Scrapperie blog.

And guess what else?! The Scrapperie September "Country Club" kit is up for Pre-Order! Here they are!

Country Club ESSENTIALS - $30

Country Club EXTRAS - $20

Country Club TRIMMINGS - $10

or pick it ALL up with the Country Club PIECE DE RESISTANCE - $57.50
