Orange and Pink

I finally got the fall decorations up! The leaves haven't yet changed their colors, but our house has . . . it if full of all shades of orange. :)

Can I share a little secret with you? I have always wanted to learn how to make wreaths and silk flower arrangements, but never have. I LOVE to get big beautiful wreaths for my front door, but I sure HATE to pay the price for them.

So here is what I did for Fall. I found a plain Jane leaf wreath.

Then a beautiful fall garland.

Wire the garland onto the wreath and WAH-LAH!!!! You have a custom looking wreath for a fraction of the cost. :D A wreath this size would have easily cost me $200 to have made. The wreath was $25 and the garland was $35. MUCH CHEAPER!!! Love it!

Add a bow and hang on your front door to welcome your family and friends. :)

While I have been filling my house with shades of orange the Shimmerz gals have been filling the Shimmerz blog with shades of PINK in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and Shimmerz is showing their support by showing off our pink. For the Month of October all the Shimmerz girls will be creating different projects using Pink Shimmerz, Blingz and Spritz.

You can get in on the fun by creating a project using Pink Shimmerz, Blingz or Spritz and uploading it to the Shimmerz Flicker Group throughout the month of October, just make sure and tell us what Shimmerz product you used. Each member of the design team will pick a winner so you have lots of chances to win.

When I think of pink, I think of girls and we all know what they are made of, right?! :D

I've had these ivory, metal canisters for a year or so now. I picked several of them up and have wanted to decorate them with this fun saying to go in my daughters' bathroom. I think it will be a fun way to store ribbons and bows and all kinds of girly goodies. :)

The base of the canister label is cream cardstock spritzed with several colors of Spritz. I LOVE to layer my Spritz colors! Here I used Cotton Candy, Treasured Hymn, Truffle, and a tiny bit of Bed of Roses. I know that some people prefer a nice smooth spray on their projects, but I actually pump mine to spurt on purpose because I like the dots and variation it creates. :)

For the ruffle I spritzed bookpaper with Cotton Candy Spritz. I love the subtle, shimmery pink! It's just gorgeous!!!

I wanted the letter stickers to sparkle like candy, so I painted them with Poinsettia Pink Blingz. I love that I can pump up the color of my products so easily this way!

Remember to upload your projects using any pink Shimmerz project to the Shimmerz Flickr group during the month of October for a chance to win more Shimmerz goodies. :) I can't wait to see what you create!

Thanks for coming by! Have a beautiful weekend! :)
