Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!
Are you wearing green? Are you doing an Irish jig? :D
We always like to celebrate holidays here at our house. For St. Patrick's Day "Pat the Leprechaun" leaves our kids a treasure hunt for them to find in the morning. After about 10 clues leading them around the house they finally find a stash of green treats for each of them. It's lots of fun!
Maryn had fun at Kindergarten today. The leprechauns made a mess of their classroom, but left them a green cake as a treat. Here is the leprechaun craft she made at school today. She didn't think it had enough color, so she came home and added some final touches to him with colored pencils here in my scraproom. :D
There is a new challenge up at Noel Mignon, The Wedding Cake challenge! Awhile ago I mentioned that I loved watching "Ace of Cakes" and "Amazing Wedding Cakes" on T.V. and how fun I thought it would be to use one as inspiration for a layout. So, we decided to make it a challenge!
Here is the cake we chose to use as inspiration:
And here is the layout I created:
Ironically enough, I always seem to stumble through my own challenges. LOL! This one was no exception, but I like being pushed out of my normal "routine". I mean, . . . isn't that what a challenge is supposed to do? :D
I used papers by Jenni Bowlin, Graphic 45, Pink Paislee and Making Memories. The pink flowers are from the dollar store. I added bits of glitter here-and-there to dress them up and to match the other glittery embellishments on my page (3-d stickers by K & Co.) I like that the glitter is hinting toward the sugar of the cake! ;)
Go check out what the other designers did and come play along! This one was so much fun!
