Once Upon a Time . . .

Have you seen this new line by Imaginisce! Oh, goodness! With three girls, and all the pink that comes with them, I couldn't help but fall in love with all the glitter and princess-y details of the Fairest of them All Collection! :D :D :D Here's a link to their website if you want to see more.

So here are a couple of layouts I've made so far with this line. The first one I used Sketch This #73. For whatever reason, I have a really hard time photographing and editing pastel colors and sparkles, so forgive me for that, kay? :D

I even pulled out some vellum for this one, can you believe it? LOL! I love how it adds a layer, but still let's the patterned paper show through from underneath.

And here's one of Maryn and Camryn just hanging out and being silly sisters together.

And she lived happily ever after! :D
Thanks for popping by!

Spooktacular Layout and a Paper Bag Card

I have a few more things to share with you using the Noel Mignon Ghost Story kit (only ONE left!). First, is a layout I did of my daughter in her Narnia White Witch costume from last year. I really love how even though her costume is white and blue, by using accents of orange, black and green the layout still has a Halloween feel to it.

I love to make cards using paper lunch sacks, especially during the fall where the Kraft color compliments the colors of the season. Use pinking shears to cut the bag a little smaller for a square card.
Inside, adhere a piece of cardstock to write your sentiment on.
These are also really fun for invitations. Utilize the opening in the paper sack by tucking in additional information about the party or add a slip of paper with directions to your house.

I actually used paper lunch sacks to create Christmas cards one year. I decorated the front, added a picture on the inside, and then wrote a short newsletter that I tucked into the paper bag opening. They were easy and were an adorable variation on the standard Christmas card.

Have fun creating!

So Sketchy Catch-Up

I'm still working on getting my files and programs set up on my computer (why aren't there more hours in the day!). Thanks to Kevin for taking the time to help me! Vista is forcing me to have to upgrade the programs that I've been using. I use to work as a Graphic Designer/Typesetter 10 years ago (don't be impressed, it was 10 years ago! LOL!) and primarily used PageMaker & Photoshop for creating documents. I LOVE PageMaker. But it looks like I'm going to have to learn something else. I feel like an old-fogey set in my comfortable ways, who doesn't want to have to change. LOL! Who knows, maybe I'll like whatever it is better.

Here are a few So Sketchy layouts that I created in September. They are just getting uploaded to the So Sketchy blog now (Ally was busy moving, too! Only she was moving across Canada, WOW!), so I thought I would share them with you today. :D

The Hotel Birthday Supplies:Patterned Papers: Making Memories, Melissa Frances; Journal Spot: Making Memories; American Crafts Velvet Thickers; Basic Grey buttons; Butterfly: Sweet Pea Scraps Kit; Other: Embroidery Floss

Silly Girl Supplies: Patterned Paper, Thicker Accents, Various DooDads: American Crafts; Letter Stickers: Making Memories, Jenni Bowlin and Adornit; Other: Embroidery Floss

Have a great weekend!

I Scrapped!

I actually did some scrapping! WooHOOOO! If you could see the chaos-of-my-office you would be very proud of me! LOL! I am beginning to get things put away, but I'm not used to where I have things AT ALL. And a lot of it is still at my old house. But I HAD to scrap! Thank heavens for kits! I love that I can open up a kit and have a gathering of different supplies that all go together! Call me a kit-aholic, but I LOVE 'EM!!!

This one is using the Noel Mignon Ghost Story Kit.
(Awesome Halloween kit! There is one lonely kit left over there, do you want to give it a good home? LOL! Yes, I'm giving it human characteristics. Heehee! I feel bad for such a fun kit sitting all alone over there!)

I've scrapped this photo of Maryn before, but I just had to do it again, when I realized I hadn't scrapped the smaller photo of her that year with her preschool teacher! :D Have you ever done that? Scrapped a picture more than once because it was such a fun one to do?

Also, I have to let you know that Noel Mignon now has a Message Board!
Yippeee! I love my DT gals over there! They are such a blast to chit-chat with! Come and hang out with us sometime!

This next layout is using the October Scarlet Lime kit. I did this for a challenge at JustCre8.
We had to use an ad slogan somewhere on our layout. I used the Johnson & Johnson "No More Tears" slogan.

I can't wait to get scrapping some more! The biggest challenge facing me right now is editing and printing off my pictures. I print my pictures off at home as I scrap, but my computer isn't all the way set up with the programs I usually use, and all my photo files are on another computer, so I'm struggling with the process of getting pictures printed to work with. Grrrrrr! I'll have it all figured out soon enough and I'll have more to post. :D

My friend Michelle S. from BackPorch Memories
posted on the message board about a photo editing site called PICNIK
and it has really saved my bacon at getting a couple of things printed out. It has a lot of fun features including lots of color-editing-type actions! For example, the photo on my "No More Tears" layout uses the Holga action. It's really fun! You should check it out when you get the chance!

Thank you so much for visiting! And thanks to those of you who take the time to leave me sweet little comments, they totally make my day! ;)

Hugs to you all!

BackPorch October Projects

Phew! I am beginning to realize what a HUGE process this moving stuff is turning out to be. I still haven't taken any pictures. :( Sorry. I've been up to my elbows in boxes, dust, suds, shopping lists and sickness to care.

Camryn, Jensyn and I have all come down with foggy-sniffle stuff and the kids are out of school for a four-day weekend. I wish I had the energy to get some stuff done or take them somewhere fun and fall-ish, but we've really just been vegging and taking it easy. I think we wore ourselves out trying to get this house set up.

I am feeling a little better today and Kevin is getting all the tech-y stuff set up in my Scrap Room, That means I am feeling the urge to play with some paper! :D I NEED some scrappy time. I need to step away from boxes and making lists and just create. I'm hoping to do some of that tomorrow. :D :D :D I think the creative break will do my heart some good. :D

Kevin also set up my old computer in the kids homework space this morning, which means I finally have access to all my files and I can post my DT work for the October BackPorch Memories Medley kit. :D If ya gotta have it, it is still available! YAY! ;)

This was such a FUN kit! Of course I had to snag all the add-on goodies to go along with it, which made it extra fun to play with! Here is what I created.

Two Year Old Drama

I think I already posted this one, but I am posting it again 'cause I'm a nerd and I like to keep things in groups of the kits I create with. :) I know. I'm a dork. ;)

Hometown Tradition

We Love You, Josie!

I used Sketch This #69 for this one. LOOOOOVE Janelle's sketches! :)

Parade

Thank you for all the well-wishes with the moving stuff. I'll try and get some photos taken soon. Hmmmmm . . . where DID I put my camera? Yikes! ;)

Hugs,
Jana

Ahhhhh! Phone and Internet!!! :D

Hello, hello, hello!!!! :D :D :D

We literally got phone and internet at the new house about 30 minutes ago! It feels so nice to be connected to the outside world again! LOL! In Utah we have one phone company and they are VERY disorganized and VERY slow! We scheduled to have our line switched over last Tuesday. Ummmm. yeah. Didn't happen.

They took our line off our old house and scheduled to be at the new one on Friday. That didn't happen either. When we called wondering where they were, they checked their computer and said they scheduled an appointment, but not a technician. What?! Then they promised they would be here Monday.

We waited and waited and no one ever came on Monday. We called and they hadn't scheduled us at all. Grrrrrrrr!

Finally! Today they showed up and got us squared away. PHEW!!! So, if you've been trying to get hold of me, this is the story behind why you couldn't. ;) If you emailed me over the last few days, I will get back with you within the next day or two. Thanks for understanding. :D

Besides the phone drama, we have been unpacking boxes, washing everything, shopping for odds-and-ends and wondering where everything is. LOL! Things will eventually feel "normal". We'll just keep chipping away at those boxes until we can get settled. :D

We are LOVING the new house! :D It's awesome how just having our family all together in a place makes it feel like home. I will take some pictures and update you as we get more settled, I just wanted to hop on real quick and let you know what I've been doing.

The kids just walked in from school, so now I'm off to help with homework. Talk to you again soon!

Halloween Memories and a New Challenge

Are you getting excited for Halloween? I am! I LOVE October! It is my favorite month! I love the crisp Fall air, the pumpkin patches, the costumes, the silly decorations, the orange and black, and all the anticipation of the upcoming candy-gathering! Halloween is my favorite holiday of the year!

Halloween also brings up a lot of memories for me. When I was little, we would ALWAYS go and visit my Grandma before trick-or-treating so that she could see us in our costumes. Now that I have children we take them to see my grandparents before nightfall. It just wouldn't feel right if we didn't! :D

Recently, my dad gave me these pictures of my kids and their cousins a few years ago that he had taken at my Grandma's house. I couldn't help but smile and knew immediately that I would use the Ghost Story kit to scrap them.

Do you have any Halloween Traditions? What are they? :D

There is a NEW CHALLENGE up at Noel Mignon with A HUMONGOUS PRIZE!!! I'd LOVE to see someone I know win this, . . . SO GO ENTER!!! ;)
