Checking In!

Hi Everyone! Just thought I would check in! How's your week going? Mine is going really good! A pretty normal week, nothing too earth-shattering, but that's good!

Here's a silly snapshot from today. It's not the greatest with the glare from the window, but it's a pretty typical scene in our house. Camryn, like any other 2-1/2 year old, loves to change outfits a million times a day. Today she woke up from her nap and decided to have a fashion show for herself in her room. This is how I found her! Toys and clothes strewn everywhere. LOL!

I've been scrapping every night this week, but unfortunately I can't post any of those projects yet until their reveal dates.

To make up for the slow posts this week I thought I would have another giveaway! Last week I bought the new book "Snippets" by Lain Ehmann. Such a fun read!!! But I know that I will never read it again. Sooooo, I thought that I would offer it up to one of you . . . my scrapping friends! ;) So if you don't mind a once-read-through copy of Snippets, leave a comment on this post by Saturday night and I will draw a person to receive it. Check back Sunday to find out whose name I drew.

See you then!

Been Playing!

The weather here this past weekend was sunny, gorgeous and absolutely perfect for giving a person a serious case of Spring Fever! :D The snow is melting and patches of soggy grass are beginning to appear! I can't wait to be outside again! To take walks and play in the yard with the kids! It's so close I can taste it! :D YAY!!!

Sunday we left church early so that Kevin and I could drive to Malad, Idaho. Kevin was asked to speak at a Fireside there. He so graciously (???) volunteered me to speak alongside him. WHAT?!!! This is a farming town and they are definitely there to hear from a weatherman, not a scrapbooker! LOL! I kept it short and sweet and told Kevin he better not "volunteer" me ever again without checking with me first! LOL! I don't mind speaking in front of people, but I really don't know much about farming or weather, so I felt like what I had to say was pretty "random". LOL! :)

I've been playing with my Noel Mignon kits again. :D

I created this Spring Banner using the Love Story kit (sorry sold out). I used the scalloped circle mini book from the kit to make flowers to hold my "SPRING" letters. The pink ribbon and jewels were found in the dollar spot at Michael's awhile back. I also purchased the green K & Co. letters from Michael's this past summer. All the papers, brads, flowers and of course the mini book were from the kit.

Next I made this layout about Jensyn using the NEW Nightingale Kit (still available HERE). This is the first time I've played with the Distress Stickles. A bottle of Vintage Photo is included in the kit. I really love the chunky feel of the glitter and the way it enhanced the brown chip letters (by Basic Grey -- from my stash). Fun stuff! I need to experiment with it some more!

Mix It Up #7

A new mixer is up at Mix It Up Challenge Blog. Mixer #7 is to use 5 different patterned papers (I snuck mine in with the mats on the photos & the punched hearts), a phrase as a title, multiple pictures, die cuts (Scenic Route journal spots), and at least one handmade embellishment (I kept it simple with a few punched hearts).

The kit I created this layout with is the Scrapperie Feb. Kit, "Love is in the Air". I added blue cardstock from my stash for a little punch of contrast and added the journal spots. It was a lot of fun!

Come over to Mix It Up and see what the other designers did! :D :D :D

New Challenge Layout and Cherries Jubilee!

A new challenge is up at Noel Mignon. This challenge is to create a layout using the Curly Girl Website as inspiration.

I used the overall web design as inspiration for my page. I remembered that I had a picture of Maryn and Camryn's feet from last summer which is reminiscent of the way the artist paints just a section of a person in her artwork. You need to go read through the quotes on the cards over there! They are so cute and just perfect for using on a srap page!

This quote reminds me of Maryn and her willingness to give Camryn anything to make her happy. This picture was taken when Cam was going through her "Croc-phase" and Maryn would literally let her take the shoes right off her feet. So sweet! :D I'm glad that I documented their relationship this way. It was really fun!

If you like winning prizes, you really oughtta come over and play with us at the Noel Mignon Valentine's Crop. We kicked it off today and are having a lot of fun! :D :D :D Noel's not only known for her amazing kits, but for her amazing crop prizes, too!

Photobucket

I mean, just check out this honey-of-a-prize for my challenge! Wow! Thanks, Noel! for providing such a rockin' prize!!!! :D (I wish I could play for this baby!)

So do you want to know what my challenge is?

My challenge is called the "Love Letter" Challenge . . . inspired by my memories of reading through my parents' love letters to each other while my dad was in the army and my mom was home preparing for their upcoming wedding. I love that she kept all of their letters together tied with a beautiful bow (Yep! Just like the movies! LOL!) I used the gorgeous new kit, the Nightingale Kit, that will go up for sale on Feb. 15th. You will find it in the Noel Mignon Kits section of the shop or the New Arrivals section on that day. :D

So the requirements are: 1) Write your journaling in letter form; 2) Include a heart somewhere on your layout; and 3) tie a ribbon around something.

To play along register on the board HERE and go to the Valentine Crop-a-Thon section in the forum. Hope to see you there!

Oh, yeah! And one more layout for you . . . This is one I created for the currentNoel Mignon Valentine Recipe Challenge. This isn't the greatest picture of Kevin and I (Jensyn snapped this one of us). I am super-close, Kevin is super-blurry, and my make-up was all rubbed off; but it isn't very often that Kevin and I get a picture of the two of us in it, so I still wanted to scrap it.

This challenge is only running until Saturday and then there will be a new one up on Sunday. So come and play while you can! :D

Okay! Thanks for reading this mega-long post!
Have a great day!

February Stamps

Here are my creations this month using the February Medley Kit and February Medley Embellishment Pack!

Love My Sister - Camryn and Maryn are the best of buds. I love seeing Camryn light up when Maryn gets home from Kindergarten and then watching them play and giggle together all afternoon. They are very good at sharing with each other and Maryn is always showering Camryn with kisses and hugs!

Obsessed - In the fall I found a bunch of nightgowns at Target and decided to get several matching sets for Maryn and Camryn (since they fight over everything). They LOOOOOVE nightgowns. Camryn immediately became completely obsessed with the Dora set. She'd wear them every single day, hardly letting me take them off of her long enough to wash them. When she couldn't find them, she would tear apart Maryn's dresser drawers, the hampers, the clean laundry piles until she found them again. If Maryn was wearing hers, Camryn would literally rip them off of her and put them on! They became the source of so much two-year-old drama in our house that they finally HAD to mysteriously "disappear". I felt so bad about it, but it was getting out of control. Sorry, Cam. I hope you'll forgive me someday. ;) The chipboard letters are from my stash.
Forest Friend - I have so many snapshots of the deer migrating through our yard each day. I wanted to create a layout about them, but the pictures I took of the group didn't have the impact I wanted it to. The deer just sort of disappeared into the background as brown specs against the trees. So I decided to focus on a good shot of just one of the deer silhouetted against a snowbank. It worked so much better! The green brads, blue labels and chipboard letters are from my stash. Hello Card - For this card I used a sheet of Petticoat paper that you can purchase as an add-on with the kit. I just love the texture it added to the white background. The Martha Stewart bakers twine is from my stash.

Don't forget that Tuesday is the last day to leave a comment on the post below to be entered in my Sharing the Love Giveaway! :D

Hugs!

Sharing the Love! - GIVEAWAY!!!

CLICK HERE for a quick little tutorial on making your own photocorners that I posted on the Noel Mignon Tip & Technique blog.

********************************************************

Now I have to admit . . . I absolutely LOVE Valentine's Day. Not necessarily for the lovey-dovey, smoochey part of it, although that's nice, too. LOL! But I love that there is a holiday to tell people how much you love and appreciate them.

Thinking of Valentine's Day brings back so many memories of making cards for school friends, creating construction paper heart animals with zig-zaggy legs at school, walking home from school on a winter day to be greeted by the red hearts cheerfully hanging in our windows, making sugar cookies, making Valentine boxes with my mom (and being impressed by the creative ideas she came up with every year), ringing and running at my friends houses leaving them surprise notes on their doorsteps, etc. It's just a fun holiday!

So I'm feeling like spreading a little love to you, my blog readers and letting you know how much I love and appreciate YOU with a giveaway! :D :D :D

Comment on this post by 11:59 p.m.(Mountain Standard)on Tuesday, February 10th and I will put your name in a drawing to win this gorgeous Scrapperie "Love Is In the Air" kit (pictured below). I will announce the winner on Wednesday and Sandi will mail the kit to you as soon as I receive the winner's address. WoooHOOOOOO!

LOVE YOU! ;)

Mix It Up #5 & Noel Mignon Kit Sneaks

Mixer #5 is up at Mix It Up Challenges! This one was really fun for me! The challenge is to bling it up! You'd think with three daughters, bling would naturally show up on my layouts all the time, but it doesn't. This challenge was a good reminder for me to pull out the glitter and gemstones more often!

"Cute-iful!" (Don't you love when kids make up their own words?!) This is what Camryn says anytime she sees a princess, a flower, or anything she things is pretty. :D Makes me laugh everytime she says it!

This layout was created using mostly items from the Noel Mignon Love Story kit (sorry, sold out). I did add the gemstones and Scrapworks Shimmer Chipboard letters.

If you're sad that you missed out on the gorgeous Love Song kit, you should know that Noel Mignon's next AMAZING KIT is about to hit the shelf!! WooHOOOOO! Mark your calendars for MONDAY, FEBRUARY 15th because the NIGHTINGALE KIT (don't you just love the names of Noel's kits?) will be up for pre-sale. YES!!!! (I know, you've been watching for this, right?!)

I have this baby at my house right now, and it's one heck of a stunner! LOVE these colors! LOVE these papers! LOVE all the extra goodies and finds in there! Here are the sneaks that have been released on the Message Board so far. :D

See what I mean? :D

Enjoy your day!

Photobucket

Remember these pics of Maryn hanging up her underpants?! LOL! I scrapped using the Noel Mignon Love Song kit (sorry, sold out). I'm thinking this is one of those layouts she will NOT want her boyfriends-of-the-future to see as they are flipping through our family scrapbooks. Hehehehe! Blackmail material! *rubbing hands together* (J/K, Maryn! ;) )

Thanks for popping by!
