Under the Weather

I'm sorry I haven't posted this week. My family and I have all been feeling under the weather. :(

Cam began the week with Pink Eye. So lots of cuddles with my girl. :( Now Cam, Owen, Kevin and I are all battling colds and aching bodies. So, needless to say, I haven't done much creating this week. :(

I do have a couple of random things to share with you though. :D

First off, here is a sneak of the BackPorch Memories February Stamp Set! Adorable!!!

The kit sneaks aren't posted yet, but I know that the Solo kit will feature the Crate Paper Mia Collection and the Medley kit will be featuring MLYB Love Letters, SEI Lovebirds, and Collage Press Jackson Lodge. You can't go wrong with either of these kits!

I was thinking about what Valentine projects I want to get started on this year and realized that I never posted a mini-album I did for Adornit last year. (I apologize the pics are so small, these are what I had saved to my computer.)

I used their Love Chipboard Album and the Love Fest paper collection. (I really love the addition of blue and black in this love-y line!)

If you love making mini books and altered items, you really ought to browse through what Adornit has to offer! So many cool items!

Here are more links to the Adornit items I used for this book: Love Chipboard Album, Valentine Stripe Paper, Circle of Love Paper, Scarlet Love Paper, Love Fest Words, Love Fest Flowers Paper, Valentine's Motif Paper, XOXO Paper, Love Fest Stickers, 3-D I Love You Stickers, White Lowercase Foam Alpha Stickers, Tiny Alpha Stickers, Black Foam Alphabet, Scalloped Journal Stamp,Swirly Scrolls Stamp, Swirls for Sentiments Stamp, Journal Box Stamp, Sophisticated Tags Stamps, Picture Perfect Stamp, Black Floral Ribbon, and Polka Red Ribbon

Well, that's it for now!
I hope you and your family are well and happy wherever you are!
I'm hoping I can get back to scrapping soon!

Hugs!

Winter has hit again!

The last few weeks have been pretty warm, giving us a little taste of Spring. But over the weekend, we were hit with a wet, heavy snowstorm.

Last night, Kevin and I woke up to a startling *THUD!* We ran around checking the house to make sure we were safe. We couldn't figure out where the big crash had come from!

Then we looked out in the backyard. The snow was so heavy that it broke one of the trees in half. When it fell it whacked the corner of the roof, making the huge sound that woke us up. The roof is fine. But I sure hope those trees hang in there! Some of the littler ones are bent over touching the ground!

Here's a new So Sketchy! layout for you!
Supplies: Patterned Paper & Letter Stickers: Rusty Pickle; Die Cut Paper: Creative Imaginations; Rubons: Daisy D's; Journal Spot: Scenic Route; Flowers: Bazzill; Other: Ric Rac & buttons

Also, there is a new challenge up at Noel Mignon today! The Off the Bookshelf challenge! This was SUCH A FUN ONE!!! I hope you will come and play along! This challenge runs until 2/9/2009 and a random winner will be drawn at the end to receive a $15 gift card to Noel's shop. Hope to see you there!

The first sneak for Noel's next kit is up on the Message Board! :D :D :D Looooookin' Gooooood!!! I LOVE these colors! Can't wait to get this baby in my hands! :D

Keep watching this MB thread for more sneaks of Noel's next kit!

Enjoy your day!

Mixer #3

Mixer #3 is up at Mix It Up Challenges. I really am loving this challenge blog! Mel has some really fun ideas and it's great to see all the different ways the designers interpret them each week. This time around was a color challenge that made me think of fall. The stars made me think of Owen's Halloween costume. So here is mine!

Can you believe the weekend is almost here?
This week has flown by!
Happy Thursday!

Today is Tuesday

I know. Lame title. But I couldn't think of a good one, so I thought I'd go generic. LOL!

Over the weekend, Kevin put me to work creating a blog for his family. And as you can see, I got in the "mode" and decided to switch my blog up a little. I love decorating my house for the holidays . . . so why not decorate my blog for the holidays, too! :D

This time around I cheated and found a premade blogheader and sidebar buttons on a digital scrapbooking site. All I had to do was add a picture and some text to them in Photoshop. It was really easy and fun! I think I will be taking advantage of them again! LOVED how easy-peasy it was!

I'm sure there are several sites with these, but here are the two I found in case you could use them, too!

Blog Wear by The Shabby Shoppe
Blog in a Box by Sweet Shoppe Designs

If you know of any others, I would LOVE it if you would share a link with me! ;)

I am NOT very good at the HTML thing in blogger, but have managed to figure it out with this great site. SJH Blog Design

Finally, I have a recent layout to share with you made using the Love Song kit by Noel Mignon. This one is already sold out, but she is getting ready to put up the next one sometime soon.

I'll post it here the day it goes up, but they do sell out FAST!!! If you'd like a heads up on the release date, shoot Noel an email and ask her to sign you up for the Newsletter (info{at}noelmignon{dot}com) or come join us on the Message Board. It's a fun place and she's always giving everyone a heads-up on the kits. :D :D :D

HUGS!!!

Guest Designing at Inspired Blueprints!!!

I was so excited when Anne-Marie and Lisa asked me to be a Guest Designer at their blossoming sketch site, Inspired Blueprints! It is one of my very favorite places to go to for inspiration these days!

Not only do they have a blogsite, but they have an interactive site where you are able to upload your creations using their sketches and see how other people have used the sketches for their layouts! It's really fun! Also, they have an amazing sponsor each month that offers a prize to one lucky participant. Come check it out if you haven't already!

I worked with the awesome Sketch #8. I kept it pretty true to the sketch, adding just another background strip to connect my photo to the journaling block. I also kept the embellies simple and straightforward because this is a layout about my son. The colors and patterns do all the "talking". LOL!

Thanks again to the Inspired Blueprints team for welcoming me over! I had a blast!

Mix It Up #2

Mix It Up #2 is up! And it's another GREAT one! Love what all the designers did!

I wasn't on assignment this time around (I do the odds), but I couldn't resist giving Day's awesome sketch a try! I used Imaginisce's new line - Twitterpated. This is a snapshot my SIL sent me of the girls playing cards on our last camping trip together. (Thanks, Amy!)

See you soon!

Pink and Princess-y!

I've been playing around with the Fairest of them All Collection by Imaginisce again. I just love how cute and girly this line is! Perfect for someone with three daughters, don't ya think?! LOL!

Jensyn got her ears pierced when she was 8-years-old. I won't let her wear earrings that are too dangly or long for fear of them getting ripped out of her ears on the playground at school. But finding a matching pair of those tiny little studs has become quite a problem in the morning.

And then I remembered the stacking organizer my mom made me when I was a girl for my tiny earrings! She glued a circle of felt in each container to act as a pillow for the earrings. When I saw the "We're Off to the Ball" rubons by Imaginisce, I thought they would be fun to use to create a little scene on the outside of the earring organizer for Jensyn.

These pictures aren't the greatest, but hopefully you get the idea! I used an x-acto knife to cut through the rubons where the containers separate so that they wouldn't tear. Jensyn really loves it! Now she has her earrings organized by color/finish and they are so much easier to find!!!

I also created a couple of layouts of Camryn. One of her just recently and one with pictures of her when she was 3 months old.

Kevin's off from work today! YES!!! So I'm off to go on a lunch date with him and the two little girls!

Have a great day!

January BackPorch Memories Kit

Here are the gorgeous kits available this month at BackPorch Memories.

Solo Kit - $24.00

Medley Kit - $24.00

Triple Treat Kit - $19.50

January Stamps - $19.50

I worked with the Medley Kit and the Medley Embellishment Pack. CLICK HERE to order yours!

I had so much fun creating with this kit! Such lovely paper stories going on in this one! Love that I could do girly, summery, classic and masculine all with one kit! Talk about versatility! :D :D :D

Here is what I created!

This layout was created using a December sketch from So Sketchy. The Making Memories journal page and punch-out borders are from previous BackPorch Memories kits.

For this one I used a sketch by Becky Fleck that will be featured in the January BackPorch Memories Newsletter. I also added a ribbon from my stash.

In my attempt to become more organized in 2009, I created a cardfile based on the S.H.E. system. The inside dividers were stamped using stamps by October Afternoon. The star border stamp is from Label Tulip.

The ribbons on this layout are from my stash.
I used the January stamp set on this layout to add detail below the photo grouping.

Thanks for stopping by!
