Sweet Pea Scraps May Kit

Whew! I'm finally feeling like I'm getting back into the routine of things after being gone on vacation. I've been scrapping up a storm working on all of my DT projects. I have a TON of projects to share with you over the next week, as I finish everything up. WOOHOO!

Today I'm posting the projects I did with the May Sweet Pea Scraps Kit. GORGEOUS kit! Julie and Kristin always do an impeccable job at putting these kits together. I love how they always include different lines of paper, yet they mix and match so effortlessly!

I believe the May kit is on waitlist (but still check it out!) . . . but they've already posted a sneak peek to the June kit on the Sweet Pea Vine blog. These kits always sell out, so be sure and grab one up if you're even thinking about it! ;)

Here ya go!

Home from Mexico and Sketch This 47

I'm Home! The Cruise was soooo much fun! We arrived home Sunday night, but it has taken me a few days to get used to being on land again. I've been dizzy and have had headaches. It's weird not to feel "grounded", but I think I'm finally starting to find my land legs again! LOL!

We had a great time visiting Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan, and Cabo San Lucas and had the chance to get to know so many fun people. Here are a few snapshots and quick captions from our trip.

Kevin convinced me not to drag my new camera around on our trip. I was sad not to play with it, but on the other hand, I think it would've been cumbersome to take it the places we ended up going.

Believe it or not, this is the only picture I took on the ship! I thought it was so cool the way the ship's backend disappeared into the morning fog.
Our first stop was in Puerto Vallarta. Kevin and I had been there before, so we decided to rent a Jeep to cruise around in and visit a few of our favorite places.
Gorgeous view of the Puerto Vallarta Coast!
We went to Chico's Paradise for Lunch and ended up trying out the Canopy Zip Line Tour.

See that little speck in the sky? That is a person riding the zipline across the canyon. Yep! I did it and it was a blast!

That night we went to Los Arbolitos for dinner with Wayne and Kelly, our new friends. :) Gotta love that Kevin and I ended up with completely cheesy expressions in this one! LOL!
Mmmmmm. Fresh Guacamole!
Small town near Mazatlan. This was the REAL DEAL. Such a cool little Mexican town (I wish I'd written down the name of it!) with an amazing, old church.

Kevin and Jana

We had never been to Cabo before, but I tell ya! After going on a drive and seeing these gorgeous views, we're ready to go back and spend more than one day there!
Check out this gorgeous Public Beach! I'm thinking the kids would love to spend a day here playing in the sand and trying to catch crabs. :)
On the last morning we were greeted home by this beautiful sunrise on the coast of Long Beach, California. Perfect ending to a Fabulous Vacation! :)

Just before I left for my trip I found out that I made Janelle Richmond's Sketch This Layout Design Team! I am so thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Janelle's AWESOME sketches each week! And here is the first one! For this I used Noel Mignon's TreeHouse Kit. (I added the orange patterned paper and journal tag) I experimented a little bit with a heat gun on the Hambly transparency. I really like the way it turned out even though I'm not quite sure how it's going to lay in a sheet protector! LOL! To see the sketch and how the rest of the team interpreted Sketch 47 click HERE. Not only do you get to see several layouts using the sketch, but you see several cards, too! How awesome is that!!!

Arrival

Kevin and I are heading off to a cruise in the Mexican Riviera for the week. (Wish my parents luck while we're gone! ;) We are extremely grateful they are willing to watch the kids again! Especially since we just went to Anguilla in January! Thanks Mom and Dad!)

Just wanted to leave you with one last layout I did using the new Noel Mignon Tree House Kit.
See you in a week!

Stacks, House and New Pets

My husband hates it, but it's part of who I am . . . I'm a stacker. I have to leave little piles of things everywhere so I remember to deal with them, or as a clue to remember to do something. Drives Kevin crazy. Heh, heh, heh! BUT! I NEVER used to stack my layouts. Sadly, I started doing it and slowly this is what it built up to. Over the last few weeks I've been organizing and getting these into books. 4 albums later, and I am almost there. Just need to go buy me another binder and some more page protectors. :)

I haven't posted about the house for awhile, so I thought I'd show you some pictures. Here's the front door all finished and installed. I'm really happy with the way it turned out!

The outside hasn't changed much, but then it has! The rockwork is FINALLY finished. I'm going to miss Chris the rock guy! LOL! He's been there for six months and has almost become a part of the house! ;) I'll have to show you more detailed of the rockin' backyard he made for us when I remember to get more pictures.

It's been so muddy out there, that we kind have been avoiding it. See the wood plank "bridge" leading up to the garage? That's what you want to stay on if you don't want to lose your shoe in 6" of slimy mud. LOL!

The brick was supposed to start this week, but it was too muddy to deliver the brick around the house. It will be there in a week, after the weather cooperates and the lot dries out a bit.

The kids don't seem to mind the dirt. Too bad mom does, huh? It actually wasn't too bad today, so I let Owen play around in the pile out front for a bit. He was quite happy about that and didn't want to leave.

The inside is coming along . . . hardwood floors are in, tile floors done, shower surrounds in process, interior doors are being hung, and trimwork is in process. It's coming! Slowly, but surely! YIPPEE!

I took these pictures last month, but I thought I would show them to you anyway. These are my new pets I'll have once we move to our new house! Yep. There's a herd of deer on our lot. About 15 of them. I LOVE deer and I think they're so beautiful and such peaceful creatures, but I have a feeling I won't love them as much once they start eating everything I plant in my yard. LOL!
I just hope they are the meanest animal we see there. With a creek on one side of the house and a water reservoir on the other I'm afraid of what other "pets" will come to have a drink!

I made this card last summer, but I had to leave you with something scrappy. :) This particular day I was in the mood to pull out the old Making Memories wires and went to town. It's not the greatest card, but it was fun to play with those dusty wires again! :)

I should have a couple of new things finished for you to see tomorrow! See you then!

What a Beauty!

Okay! I've had the beautiful Noel Mignon kit in my hands for the last couple of days and I COULDN'T WAIT for her to put it up on her site so I could tell you all about it! Check it out! And it has the cutest name, the Tree House Kit! This thing is gorgeous! And let me tell you, it is PACKED FULL of all kinds of goodies! YAY! Just what we scrapbookers LOVE, right!?! :)

So if you want to see more pictures of this beauty CLICK HERE.

I can't wait to get designing with this kit!

*****************************

I think I mentioned in a previous post that I am the Visiting Therapist (Guest Design Team member) for this month at I Am A Scrapaholic. This month is their birthday celebration and they are giving away goodies in their forum left-and-right! It is quite the party! I would LOVE to see some of you, my friends, win some of those prizes! Come on over and play before the month is over! ;)

Lynn is the sweetest and sent me over a bunch of goodies to create with. I had soooo much fun with this color combination and wanted to share with you the projects I created!

This is my sister, Leslee, with her firstborn (photos by Gallery Photography). I laugh every time I see that picture of the two of them looking up, because Ray actually gave her a little "shower" during that shot! LOL!

When Kevin and I visited Anguilla in January, the first thing we noticed about the island were all the goats! They were everywhere! LOL! People obviously kept them as livestock, but there were also 100's just roaming around. We'd wake up in the morning to the bleating of goats. How romantic, eh? LOL!

Hmmmm. Don't know why this one is showing up smaller, it just is . . . Anyways . . . These fun papers and colors were the perfect compliment to my St. Patrick's Day photos. Too bad I never got a shot with all of us wearing green! Oh, well! The kit came with a green Galaxy Marker. Oh my goodness! Have you played with one of these yet?! Totally got me in a doodling mood! I pulled out my old lettering templates from the old days and created my title. So fun!
As you may have guessed, and already seen from other layouts, Maryn is my little camera hog. She LOVES the camera and automatically strikes several poses. I promise! I DON'T ask her to do this! She is just such a ham!

This last project is the mini book that comes in the Therapy kit. WOW! This was SO MUCH FUN to put together! :) I love that I could treat the clear bag the album went in as my "cover". Isn't it cute how my little smiling face peeks through?! LOL!

The idea for this album comes from a yearly page I make about the members of our family. Each year I place a headshot along with answers to the same questions, and the year. It's really fun to see how the answers change from year-to-year and I thought it would be fun to make it into a mini-album that we could leave out on our end table.

I have more to go on about, but I think I'll leave that for a post for tomorrow. Thanks for stopping by! I know my posts have been sporadic lately, but I still appreciate everyone who comes by and leaves me such sweet comments. It means so much to me and always makes me feel happy. THANK YOU! Mmmmmmmwah!
