One More Sweet Pea and Some Adornit

One more layout using the December Sweet Pea Scraps Kit. :) I love how I was able to use these papers to create a layout of my son in his Halloween costume! I added a chipboard "k", a couple of old Making Memories brads, and some eyelets from my stash. For the word "fright" I used some Martha Stewart Halloween Letter stamps from Michaels. This layout was inspired by a sketch by Erica Hildebrand.

Adornit has these great new punch out tags. Love these things! I knew I wanted to use one on this layout with the 2007 Halloween Papers. It was hard just picking a few papers from this great line! I even let loose a little and tried my hand at doodling a huge frame. Doodling makes me nervous! I need to get me one of the new doodling books and practice so I don't feel so intimidated next time I try it. LOL! :)
One day over at the lot, one of our future neighbors came to say "hello". He's in his 90's and was wearing a jacket, cowboy boots, and a cowboy hat. You should have seen Owen's face studying this "real" cowboy we were talking to. He immediately came home and mozied around in this get up for the rest of the day. Of course I had to snap a few shots because I've been dying to use this cute Adornit paper. LOL!

December Crop Addict

Happy Thanksgiving! I hope you all had a relaxed and beautiful time with your family and friends yesterday. I was feeling cruddy on account of a cold and wasn't sure if I was feeling up to taking the kids to Thanksgiving Dinner. Kevin had to work :(, and so it was up to me to venture out with the four of them alone. Thank HEAVEN for modern medicine! I was able to make it there and stay for several hours! It was a lovely time, but it's just not the same without my hubby. Fortunately, my family is having our Thanksgiving Dinner tomorrow at my brother's house. This time Kevin can come, so it will feel more like the "real deal" when we're all together. :)

In my last post I mentioned that I had been a busy scrapper-girl, and today I thought I would post everything I've been working on for Crop Addict. The December kit for Crop Addict is so scrumptious! Lots of Heidi Grace Frost Blvd. goodies as well as We R Memory Keepers White Out Explore stuff! And if that's not enough to wet your appetite, Debbie also included a bunch of 6 X 6 Basic Grey papers! Tons of papers this month! FUN!!! My December projects are below:

I was worried about not having any snow pictures for the Frost Blvd collection, until I realized it would be absolutely PERFECT to scrap Jensyn's White Witch Halloween Costume! Love that flocked paper! I decided to cut out the snowflakes and use them as accents. Add a bit of sparkly Diamond Stickles and you're instantly transported to a Winter Wonderland.
Look at how little Jensyn and Owen are in this picture! My sister brought me a disk with some photos from a few Christmases ago and I couldn't resist making a page of these little munchkins with their cousins!
The We R Memory Keepers Explore was perfect at getting some of my Pumpkin Patch photos scrapped!
I decided to experiment a little with a shaped layout. I like how it turned out except for I'm thinking I may take off that back piece of scalloped Bazzill . . . Hmmmmm. I'll have to stare at it for awhile before I decide for sure. LOL!

Here's my adorable niece Josie, a few winters ago enjoying the snow with my brother's dog, Eli.
Just playing around with a card idea. Sorry, about the shadows. I didn't realize they were there until I was uploading. OOPS!
Crop Addict is also having a Tinkering Ink Manufacturer Challenge this month. (Check out the message board for details.) As a design team, we were lucky enough to receive some of the upcoming Beloved Collection to play with. WooHOO! At first I was a little intimidated by the bright colors, but after a few minutes I was converted to a doodley mood and set myself free with this great paper line. I had a lot of FUN! Tessa Ann Watte from the Tinkering Ink Design Team gave us a beautiful sketch to go from, as well. I love how Tinkering Ink paper instantly makes you feel young and funky! :)

Well, that's it for now! I'll be posting some Adornit projects within the next few days, so I hope you'll check back and let me know what you think!
Happy Weekend!
Jana :)

My First Sweet Pea Scraps Kit

Well, I've been a busy little scrapper bee this past week and I have lots of projects to post over the next few days! WOOHOO! I love getting so many things done. It feels great!

Today I'll be posting 5 layouts done with the December Sweet Pea Scraps kit. This is my first time working with these kits, and I have to say, what a blast it was! These kits are PACKED with both patterned paper and cardstock. It's a lot of fun to have so many things to work with! Thanks for taking a peek!

Hope you all have a wonderful, blessed, and relaxing Thanksgiving Holiday!

November Backporch Memories Projects

I was lucky enough to be chosen as the November Guest Designer for Backporch Memories. http://www.backporchmemories.com/ Seriously, what a fun kit this was to work with! I was sent the Medley kit and couldn't help but purchase the November Medley Indulgence and Embellishment Add-Ons as well as the Exclusive November Stamps. Gorgeous stuff, I tell ya! I couldn't keep my hands off it! And here are the results!

Do you ever look at your children and catch glimpses of the adult they are too quickly becoming? Maryn looked so grown-up this day, all confident and cute and silly. I just love this kid! She's such a free-spirit! I love it! I hope that she always maintains that awesome preschooler confidence and zest for life! My mom is always bringing snacks for the kids. This was a soccer game and she had brought each of my kids a baggie full of candy corn. Camryn had so much fun examining them and shaking them all over the place. She looked like she was holding pom-poms doing a candy corn cheer.
Owen cracks me up! One Sunday morning, he and Maryn were playing with his magic set. Maryn was completely convinced that things were disappearing FOR REAL, and she was squealing with excitement. Owen would have her close her eyes to say her magic words and quickly "make the magic happen". Maryn never quite caught on and Owen was so cute when he'd look over at me with a big smile and wink, happy to see Maryn so delighted with her tricks.

I can't believe Thanksgiving is in one short week! November has melted away and soon I'll be ultra-stressing at how behind I already am on Christmas shopping. Kevin is so great to keep me grounded. He's a get-it-done man and every year knocks out the shopping in two or three nights. Every year I promise myself that I am going to be super-organized and have it done before Thanksgiving, but it never happens. Oh, well! I guess that's just who I am.

The house is coming along great! The foundation is poured and this week they began framing. This is my favorite part! I love feeling the walls go up and imagining our crazy family running around inside of them. Hopefully they can get a lot of it done before the snow starts flying!

Cards and Croppin!

I really don't consider myself a cardmaker, but for some unknown reason I've been hanging onto "older" stuff thinking I'll make a bunch of cards from them someday. Well, I decided to try my hand at it. Here are a few I made. The first & third one were inspired by a Di Hickman sketch.
http://dihickman.blogspot.com/2007_10_01_archive.html
The other one I sort of just made up as I went.

It was fun. But it also helped me to realize that I'll never make it through the stash I have set aside for them. So . . . I purged a bunch of my stuff to my friends this week. It feels good to let go of it. LOL!

Well . . . Today marks the first day of the Sugardumplin Online Crop! It begins at 3:00 p.m. EST and will go through Sunday, Nov. 11th. So be sure to come on over and play. The Grand Prize is a Free 3 month Subscription to Sugardumplin. I KNOW! --- Awesome prize!!!! So what are you waiting for! :)

Found My Camera!

Yep! I found my camera. It was in the backseat of my car. Go figure!

I just wanted to share some photos of my cute family from this past week. Here we are visiting the coolest pumpkin patch ever! It is located in Syracuse, Utah. It had so many fun things to do . . . we spent 3 hours there! First, we looked at the farm animals. The kids had a lot of fun feeding the goats corn. Camryn just giggled and giggled her little head off at them.

Next the kids tried their hand at the water pump race game. Inside these little "troughs" were rubber ducks. You had to pump the water to make them go down the slide. It was fun racing to see who could pump the water the fastest!

Camryn and Maryn's favorite part were the big haybale slides/playgrounds they had set up. There were about 4 different ones in all sizes to fit each age group. Camryn could have done that all day, and Maryn kept sneaking back to the big 2 story slide!
While waiting for the 4-wheeler train the kids played in a sandbox full of corn kernels. When they got a turn on the "train" they stayed on for more than 5 rides through the cornfields in their pig and cow carts. Cute! I want one for our backyard someday!
All the boys tried their hand at the corn shooting. That's my dad shooting in the foreground. Kevin and Owen are on the next gun. And that's my cute brother, Chase in the background. Brandt is around there somewhere. Owen actually ended up having the closest shot to the target! Yeah, Owen!

We explored a few corn mazes and then waited for a tractor ride to take us out to the pumpkin fields. I loved that! I have never been in a real pumpkin patch before. We got to cut our pumpkins right off the vine! I love the shot of my parents with their pumpkins and the vine draped over my mom's shoulders! She's so funny!

Here are my four cuties in their Narnia Halloween costumes. I wish I had gotten better shots, but we're always in a hurry to get them in the car to go visit grandparents! LOL! I didn't even get the four of them together. Oh, well! Maybe I can bum a picture off of my dad. LOL!

Jensyn was an icy, White Witch. Owen loved his sword and shield as Peter. Maryn especially loved her Lucy cape. Camryn didn't trip on her Azlan tail once. She sure did hate getting her nose painted, though. Hope you all had a great Halloween!
