Great Weekend!

Yesterday was so much fun! I was invited to My Scrapbook Zone in American Fork, Utah, to teach a Make & Take for Adornit in honor of the store's One Year Anniversary. It was so much fun to cozy up inside from the rainy/snowy weather and hang out with some new scrapping friends!

If you or someone you know is in search of some great, simple page kits, that take all the guesswork out of making a layout, be sure to visit My Scrapbook Zone's online store. http://www.myscrapbookzone.com/index.php?main_page=index They sell a huge variety of page kits and always have them in stock to ship right out to you.

I've Been TAGGED . . . TWICE!

Holy Moly! I better get my 7 random facts up about myself before I get tagged again! LOL!

My good friends Laura (http://msgrace-thegiftofgrace.blogspot.com/) and Jenn (http://jenn-thisismenow.blogspot.com/) both tagged me, so now you get to hear 7 random and strange facts about me, and then I'll hunt down some of you to continue this crazy online-version of the chain letter on!

Here are the rules of tagging that I am supposed to follow:

1. Link to your tagger, and also post these rules on your blog.

2. Share 7 facts about yourself on your blog, some random, some weird.

3. Tag 7 people at the end of you post by leaving their names as well as links to their blogs.

4. Let them know they are TAGGED by leaving a comment on their blog.

My Seven Random Facts
1. I used to play the mandolin/sing in a little bluegrass band with some friends in my high school/college years. (In case you don't know what a mandolin is, here is a little picture for ya!) I still LOVE bluegrass music and I can't wait until my kids are a little older so we can travel around to bluegrass music festivals again!

2. My secret dream profession is to be an Interior Designer.

3. E.T. totally freaks me out!

4. People always compliment me at how tidy and clean my house is. Well guess what, my husband is the one that keeps it that way. I'm the slob of the two of us!

5. My husband works in the TV news industry and I have no interest in news, politics, anything like that. I barely even watch him. I know, I need to grow up one of these days. LOL!

6. I'm a total homebody. I would stay in my p.j.'s all day, everyday if I could.

7. One of my biggest pet peeves is when people put me on speakerphone or don't identify themselves when they call.

Alright, now I'm supposed to tag 7 people. It's just that most people I know have already been tagged! So if I tag you and you've already done this, please feel free to ignore me! LOL! Let's see . . . how about . . .

That's a BIG Hole!

I know a couple of pictures of dirt doesn't mean very much to most people, but these ones mean a TON to me! It shows that a lot was accomplished on our lot this past week and that we have officially begun the building process! WooHoo!

Check out Adornit's new Fall papers! Aren't they fabulous! Love those warm Autumn hues. My daughter is growing up too fast. In these pictures I can see a hint of the teenager she will be in a few years. :( Just goes to show that you need to enjoy every minute of your kids, they really do grow up way too fast! My dad is the "other" photographer in the family. I love it because when I'm busy running around getting birthday cakes cut and cousins entertained I know that I'll still have pictures of an event because my dad is snapping away. Love that guy! This photo of him last weekend on our fall drive cracks me up. He was playing around with his new telephoto lens and so he was taking our pictures from across a stream on a bridge! LOL!
This paper from Adornit reminds me of Cheerios! LOL! I just had to use it with this photo of our dog, Kiki, waiting for crumbs to fall her way! Silly dog! She patiently sits there each and every morning. It usually pays off, though!

All-Nighter!

I received a couple of kits from www.scarletlime.com yesterday that I had ordered and couldn't wait to dig in! Gosh! These are gorgeous kits! I had so much fun digging through all the treasures. It put my scrappin' mojo in high gear and I stayed up until 6:00 a.m. scrapbooking! I made four layouts with my new kits that I'll post here today. I used them to do some pages about myself using some great challenges from the site, www.iamascrapaholic.com

I also, made 2 layouts for Adornit, but I'll save those for next time. ;) Thanks for stopping by!

Sad.

I'm sad, and a little deflated. Yesterday, Jennie at 2 Jills announced that she will be closing even though it's only been one week since her Grand Reopening. I was just starting to feel at home in my new Design Team position there. I'm sad, but I understand that Jennie's family needs her right now. Families are the most important thing, so I really think it's a commendable decision.
Maybe someone will decide to pick things up where she left off, . . . I hope so! Great site!

Well then, here is my last page for the 2 Jills October kit. Atleast I got to be part of the fun for a little while, right? Thanks for the fun, 2 Jills! I enjoyed it while it lasted! :)

Autumn Cold - Time to Stay Inside and SCRAP! :)

Every morning when I take the dog out I about freeze my noggin off standing there in the Fall chill! Wow! Have we had some cold days this past week! Of course, when it is cold, all I want to do is stay inside where it's cozy . . . and get some scrapping done! Some of the projects I did last week I can't show you quite yet. But here are some that I've done for the new 2 Jills Design Team than I CAN show you!

For the Grand Re-Opening at 2 Jills Becky Fleck created an exclusive sketch just for the occasion. We were also lucky to have a Card Sketch created just for us by the talented Di Hickman. My takes on their sketches are below.

When the 2 Jills October kit arrived at my door this last weekend I couldn't wait to dive right in to all the warm colors, and cozy textures of the felt, ribbons, threads and more included in the kit. Three of my layouts using this kit are pictured below.

In Midway, Utah, we came across this gorgeous cottage. Every time we passed it, I made Kevin stop for a minute so we could admire it's beauty and architecture. Kevin would go on and on to the kids about how Snow White lives there with the Prince and the Seven Dwarves. My kids are completely convinced this is where she lives and they don't quite understand why we haven't taken them to visit Snow White, yet?!

Yesterday we took a beautiful fall drive over the Alpine Loop. It was 11 years ago this very same weekend that Kevin and I were on this very same drive listening to conference. We got out and were walking through the fall leaves, enjoying our time together and discussing our possible future together. It was then and there we decided to get married! It was fun to be there again, 11 years and four kids later. WOW!
